Abstract

The subject matter described herein relates to a device and corresponding method for purification of water. The method involves adjusting pH level of the water to provide conditioned water. The conditioned water is then passed through a primary adsorption media which adsorbs a first portion of fluoride ions present in the conditioned water to provide defluoridated water. A second portion of the fluoride ions present in the defluoridated water is subsequently adsorbed by a secondary adsorption media to provide purified water.
