Abstract
The present invention relates to a laundry washing or washing-drying machine (1) comprising a cabinet (2), a drum (3) wherein laundry is placed, a tub (4) that makes vibrational movement during operation with the effect of the drum (3) rotating therein, more than one shock absorber (5) supporting the tub (4) from below, providing the connection of the tub (4) to the cabinet (2) and dampening the vibrational movements of the tub (4), more than one lug (6) disposed on the cabinet (2) and the tub (4) providing the shock absorber (5) to be connected to the cabinet (2) and the tub (4), more than one securing hole (7, 107) disposed on the lug (6) and the shock absorber (5) aligning with each other while the shock absorber (5) is mounted to the lug (6), a cylindrical sleeve (8) and more than one shock absorber pin (10) having a flange (9) disposed on one end of the sleeve (8) and which is seated on the side surface of the lug (6) facing the outside.
Description
The present invention relates to a laundry washing or washing-drying machine comprising shock absorbers that dampen the vibrational movements of the tub.
In laundry washing or washing-drying machines, the tub, where the laundry is loaded into the drum therein, makes oscillatory and vibrational movements during operation depending on the load conditions and the number of revolutions per minute. The tub is attached to the casing with the shock absorbers generally from its lower side and the shock absorbers, while functioning to dampen the vibrations of the tub, thereby decreasing the transfer of these vibrations to the body, also behave like an energy transmission pathway that transfers the vibrations to the body and this causes noise. The shock absorbers prevent the tub from bumping to the cabinet by dampening the high amplitude vibrations when the laundry washing or washing-drying machine passes from the washing step to the spin-drying step. The shock absorbers are mounted between the base of the cabinet and the tub of the laundry washing or washing-drying machine. While the shock absorbers are mounted, shock absorber pins are used that are fitted in the securing holes disposed on the shock absorber and the machine cabinet and the tub. The shock absorber pins get loose in the hole whereto they are fitted in the course of time due to forces exerted during operation of the laundry washing or washing-drying machine, thereby causing vibrations and hence increase of noise.
In the United States Patent No. US7726158, a damper pin used in washing machines is explained. An elastic member is placed into the damper pin.
In the European Patent Application No. EP0887456, a damper pin used in washing machines is explained. The mounting sleeve of the damper pin is composed of two symmetrical segments. The said segments are connected to each other with a flexible connection and can stretch by getting closer or farther away from each other; however, meanwhile the cross-sectional circularity of the mounting sleeve is deformed, the cross-section becomes “oval”, thus cannot exert balanced pressure all around on the inner surface of the hole wherein it is mounted.
The aim of the present invention is the realization of a laundry washing or washing-drying machine comprising shock absorbers that dampen the vibrations of the tub with improved method of connection to the cabinet.
In the laundry washing or washing-drying machine realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, the tub, which makes vibrational movements during operation with the effect of the drum wherein the laundry is placed, is connected to the cabinet with the shock absorbers for dampening the vibrations. More than one lug is disposed on the cabinet and the tub that provide the connection of the shock absorber. More than one securing hole is arranged on the lug and the shock absorber, aligned with one another during assembly.
The shock absorber pin of the present invention, comprises a cylindrical sleeve, a flange with a wider diameter than the sleeve and three slots opened lengthwise on the sleeve, dividing the sleeve into three equal segments and three elastic connection members, disposed at the inner part of each slot, connecting two adjacent segments along the slot, extending towards the center of the sleeve in the radial direction. The connection members disposed at equal intervals on the sleeve provide the maintaining of the circularity when the sleeve shrinks and expands by stretching.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the cross-section of the connection member is C-shaped, connecting the sides of the segments facing each other by forming a concave bend in the slot therebetween.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the end portion of the sleeve is of tapered configuration for easy assembly, and the widths of the slots are increased towards the end portion.
In the laundry washing or washing-drying machine of the present invention, the circularity of the sleeve is maintained, it does not become oval, while the shock absorber pin is fitted into the securing holes, and exertion of balanced pressure all along at the inner surface of the securing holes whereto it is fitted is provided, the sleeve does not get loose in the securing hole thereby prevents vibration and increase of noise.
The laundry washing or washing-drying machine realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where:

The shock absorber pin (10) of the present invention has
- three slots (11) extending from the flange (9) to the other end of the sleeve (8), dividing the sleeve (8) lengthwise, opened around the periphery of the sleeve (8) at equal intervals such that there are 120 degree angles therebetween,
- three segments (12) separated from one another by the slots (11) and
- three connection members (13) of elastic structure, produced as a single piece with the sleeve (8), connecting the two adjacent segments (12), separated from each other by each slot (11), along the slot (11) and extending towards the inner section of the sleeve (8) (Figure 6).

The connection members (13) extend from the slots (11) at the periphery of the sleeve (8) towards the center of the sleeve (8) in the radial direction.
The elastic connection members (13) provide the segments (12) to stretch inwards or outwards in a balanced manner and thus maintain the cross-sectional circularity of the sleeve (8) when it shrinks or expands due to forces exerted during assembly and operation.
In the assembly of the shock absorber pin (10), the segments (12) are stretched inwards in the radial direction by applying pressure with an assembly apparatus, the shock absorber pin (10) is fitted to the securing holes (7, 107), the cross sectional circularity of the sleeve (8) is not deformed and does not become oval by means of three elastic connection members (13) disposed at equal intervals at the inner section of the slots (11). After the shock absorber pin (10) is fitted to the securing holes (7, 107), the connection members (13) and hence the segments (12) are changed to free position by taking out the assembly apparatus, the segments (12) exert pressure on the inner surface of the securing holes (7, 107) all around by opening outwards in a balanced manner. During operation of the laundry washing or washing-drying machine (1), the segments (12) stretch inwards or outwards all around in the radial direction in a balanced manner, and the segments (12) always form a uniform circle while the sleeve (8) shrinks and expands.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the shock absorber pin (10) has the connection member (13), with C-shaped cross-section, that connects the sides of the segments (12) facing each other all along by forming a concave bend in the slot (11) therebetween. The end portions of the C-shaped connection member (13) are connected lengthwise to the sides of the segments (12) facing each other that are separated by the slot (11) (Figure 5, Figure 6).
In an embodiment of the present invention, the shock absorber pin (10) comprises the sleeve (8), of which the end portion fitted to the securing holes (7, 107) has tapered configuration and slots (11) that provide flexibility of the sleeve (8) to be increased and the assembly to be facilitated with increased width from the flange (9) towards the end portion of the sleeve (8) (Figure 5).
In the laundry washing or washing-drying machine (1), while the shock absorber pin (10) is fitted to the securing holes (7, 107), the circularity of the sleeve (8) is provided to be maintained and to exert equal pressure all around at the inner surface of the securing holes (7, 107) whereto it is fitted, and the diameter of the sleeve (8) in the securing hole (7, 107) is prevented from decreasing and the sleeve (8) from getting loose in the course of time.
In the laundry washing or washing-drying machine (1), furthermore the dampening rubber bushes disposed in the securing hole (7, 107) in the shock absorber (5) are prevented from being torn during assembly. In the state of the art, when the sleeve is desired to be fitted into the securing holes by being tapered, it becomes oval and tears the rubber bushes placed in the securing holes for decreasing abrasion and increasing dampening. In the laundry washing or washing-drying machine (1) of the present invention, the problem of the rubber bushes (not shown in the figures), disposed in the securing holes (7, 107) for decreasing abrasion and increasing dampening, being torn by the shock absorber pin (10) during the assembly is solved.
It is to be understood that the present invention is not limited by the embodiments disclosed above and a person skilled in the art can easily introduce different embodiments. These should be considered within the scope of the protection postulated by the claims of the present invention.
Claims (1)
- A laundry washing or washing-drying machine (1) comprising a cabinet (2), a drum (3) wherein laundry is placed, a tub (4) that makes vibrational movement during operation with the effect of the drum (3) rotating therein, more than one shock absorber (5) supporting the tub (4) from below, providing the connection of the tub (4) to the cabinet (2) and dampening the vibrational movements of the tub (4), more than one lug (6) disposed on the cabinet (2) and the tub (4) providing the shock absorber (5) to be connected to the cabinet (2) and the tub (4), more than one securing hole (7, 107) disposed on the lug (6) and the shock absorber (5) aligning with each other while the shock absorber (5) is mounted to the lug (6), a cylindrical sleeve (8) and more than one shock absorber pin (10) having a flange (9) disposed on one end of the sleeve (8) and which is seated on the lug (6),characterized by the shock absorber pin (10) having- three slots (11) extending from the flange (9) to the other end of the sleeve (8), dividing the sleeve (8) lengthwise, opened around the periphery of the sleeve (8) at equal intervals,- three segments (12) separated from one another by the slots (11) and- three connection members (13) of elastic structure, produced as a single piece with the sleeve (8), connecting the two adjacent segments (12) along the slot (11), separated from each other by each slot (11), and extending towards the inner section of the sleeve (8).2 - A laundry washing or washing-drying machine (1) as in Claim 1, characterized by the shock absorber pin (10) having connection members (13) that provide the circularity of the sleeve (8) to be maintained when it shrinks and expands.3 - A laundry washing or washing-drying machine (1) as in Claim 1 or 2, characterized by the connection members (13) that extend from the slots (11) towards the center of the sleeve (8) in the radial direction.4 - A laundry washing or washing-drying machine (1) as in Claim 1, characterized by the shock absorber pin (10) having the connection member (13) with C-shaped cross-section, that connects the sides of the segments (12) facing each other all along by forming a concave bend in the slot (11) therebetween.5 - A laundry washing or washing-drying machine (1) as in Claim 1 or 2, characterized by the sleeve (8), of which the end portion fitted to the securing holes (7, 107) has tapered configuration and the shock absorber pin (10) having the slots (11) the width of which from the flange (9) to the end portion of the sleeve (8) is increased.
