Abstract

The invention relates to a leukocyte extract containing 10,000 daltons or less of polypeptides from shark spleen, and to the use thereof as an adjuvant in viral preparations used as vaccines. The invention also relates to a method for extracting and processing a dialysable leukocyte extract from selachimorpha in order to obtain a transfer factor with increased potential. The invention further relates to compositions comprising a transfer factor and to the combinations thereof with viral antigens, and provides methods for producing the compositions and formulations of the transfer factor as an adjuvant.
