Abstract

The invention relates to a chuck (1) for the force-fit clamping of a rotating shaft tool (2), having an axial stop determining the clamping depth of the tool to be clamped. The axial stop is formed by a positioning member (20), which is arranged such as to be axially adjustable in a central receiving opening (14) communicating with a central receiving bore (15) for receiving the shaft tool (2). The positioning member (20) bears axially against the shaft tool (2) with the end face of the member projecting into the receiving bore (15). The chuck also has an actuator (30) for the axial adjustment of the positioning member (20). According to the invention, the positioning member (20) is arranged such as to be axially displaceable yet non-rotatable in the receiving opening (14) by a positive engagement of outer circumferential surface thereof with the inner circumferential surface of the receiving opening (14).
