Description

Description
SUNLIGHT REFLECTING ARRANGEMENT, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SUNLIGHT REFLECTING ARRANGEMENT, SOLAR COLLECTOR ASSEMBLY WITH THE SUNLIGHT REFLECTING ARRANGEMENT AND USE OF THE SOLAR COLLECTOR ASSEMBLY
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention
This invention relates to a sunlight reflecting arrangement and method for manufacturing the sunlight reflecting
arrangement. Moreover a solar collector assembly with the sunlight reflecting arrangement and a use of the solar collector assembly are provided.
2. Description of the Related Art A solar field is a modular distributed system of solar collector assemblies (SCA) connected to each other via a system of pipes. The SCA comprises a sunlight reflecting arrangement with at least one reflector (mirror) for
reflecting sunlight and with at least one reflector holder for holding the reflector. For instance, the reflector is a bent reflector with a parabolic shape. The reflector is a parabolic reflector. The reflector and the reflector holder are connected together by gluing connection pads. Solar radiation is focused by the parabolic reflector onto a heat collection element which is arranged in a focal line of the parabolic reflector. The heat collecting element
comprises a hollow tube (heat receiver tube) through which a heat transfer fluid (HTF) is circulated. Via the heat receiver tube solar energy is absorbed. The absorbed energy is transferred to the heat transfer fluid, e.g. a thermo-oil. Via the heat transfer fluid the transferred energy is
transported to a heat exchanger, where steam is generated. The steam is used to drive a turbine which is connected to a generator. By the generator electric energy is produced.
Solar reflecting arrangements are key elements of the solar field. Their costs amount 20% to 30% of the costs of a solar field. Among other things the high costs are based on the necessary gluing process for connecting the reflector and the reflector holder.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
It is an object of the invention to provide a sunlight reflecting arrangement, which is cheaper and which is more reliable compared to the state of the art. Further objects of the invention are a method for
manufacturing the sunlight reflecting arrangement, a solar collector assembly with the sunlight reflecting arrangement and a use of the solar collector assembly. These objects are achieved by the invention-s- specified in the claims .
A sunlight reflecting arrangement with at least one reflector for reflecting sunlight and with at least one reflector holder for holding the reflector is provided. The reflector holder is fixed to at least one edge of the reflector by at least one fixing element. The fixing element comprises at least one spring element. By the spring element the fixing element is elastically deformable. A deformability of the spring element can be based on a material of the spring element and/or on a structure of the spring element. By an elastic deformability of the spring element of the fixing element an external load, e.g. a load caused by a gust of a wind, can be reduced. This results in a reduced mechanical stress within the reflector and/or within the sunlight reflecting arrangement leading to an increased durability of the reflector and/or of the sunlight reflecting arrangement. Additionally a method for manufacturing the sunlight
reflecting arrangement is described. The method comprises following steps: a) providing the reflector or providing a precursor of the reflector and providing the reflector holder and b) fixing the reflector or the precursor of the reflector and the reflector holder together by the fixing element.
Finally a solar collector assembly with at least one such sunlight reflecting arrangement and a use of the solar collector assembly in a power plant for converting solar energy into electrical energy is provided.
In a preferred embodiment the reflector is clamped by the fixing element. The fixing element is connected to the reflector on opposite sides of the reflector. In an
embodiment the fixing element and the reflector are connected together by at least one elastomeric separator. In the case of the clamping it is advantageous, that on both sides of the reflector an elastomeric separator for connecting the
reflector and the reflector holder is arranged. This reduces a mechanical stress within the clamped reflector
additionally .
A shape of the reflector can be different. In an embodiment the reflector is selected from the group existing of a flat reflector and a bent reflector with a reflector bending. The reflector bending comprises preferably a parabolic shape. More preferably the reflector bending is a permanent
reflector bending. The resulting sunlight reflecting
arrangement is used for a solar collector assembly with a parabolic trough.
The reflector can comprise different, sunlight reflecting materials. The reflector can just consist of a body out of reflecting material.
Alternatively the reflector comprises a reflector substrate on which a thin sunlight reflecting layer is attached. For instance the sunlight reflecting layer comprises silver. The reflector substrate can consist of different organic or inorganic materials.
In an embodiment the reflector substrate comprises glass. The reflector substrate is a glass sheet, onto which the sunlight reflecting layer is attached. Thereby the reflector can act as a front surface mirror or as a back surface mirror.
The glass sheet can be flat resulting in a flat reflector. Preferably the glass sheet comprises a permanent parabolic bending resulting in a bent reflector. For instance, the bent reflector comprises a parabolic shape. For introducing the bending there are different ways possible. Preferably a cold or a hot bending of the glass sheet (with annealing the glass sheet) and/or of the reflector can be carried out. Hence in a further preferred embodiment the bent reflector is selected from the group existing of a cold bent reflector and a hot bent reflector.
For instance the cold bending can be carried out with following steps: a) Providing a tempered flat precursor glass sheet with a glass sheet thickness selected from the range between 2 mm and 10 mm; b) bending the tempered flat
precursor glass sheet with the aid of an external bending force such, that a bended glass sheet with a glass sheet bending results; and c) fixing the glass sheet bending of the bended glass sheet such, that the permanent glass sheet bending results; wherein the bending the tempered flat precursor glass sheet is executed at a bending temperature which is selected from the range between 0°C and 70°C. The fixing can be carried out with the aid of the fixing element with the spring element. The glass sheet is tempered. This means, that the glass sheet is pretreated by an application of heat (preheated) and/or by an application of a chemical reagent. Additionally a fast cooling can be carried out.
These treatments lead to glass sheet internal forces.
Internal pressures between 50 MPa and 150 MPa result.
Summarizing following advantages are provided by the
invention:
- The invention provides an easy assembly and fixation process of a reflector to a reflector holder. - The gluing process for connecting the reflector and the reflector holder concerning the state of the art is not necessary. Furthermore additional components or manufacturing processes like applying vacuum or pressure for the fixating the reflector and the reflector holder together are not necessary, too. Hence the method for manufacturing is
simplified and time-saving. This saves material costs and costs for the manufacturing of the sunlight reflecting arrangement . - In case of a damage of the reflector a dismantling and a replacing of the reflector can easily be carried out. The fixing element with the spring element can be re-used.
Special tools or machines for the assembling or disassembling are not necessary. Maintenance costs are reduced.
- Due to their elasticity the spring elements can elastically change their form in a way that allows small movements of the reflector and/or reflector holder due to external forces and geometrical changes of the reflector and/or geometrical changes of the reflector holder. This is especially
advantageous for a reflector with a brittle substrate
material like glass. For instance, the geometrical changes are based on thermal effects or based on environmental conditions (e.g. gusts) . Due to the acceptable small
movements the probability of a damage of the reflector is reduced .
- By the kind of connection the reflector is less susceptible to a deformation. This increases the optical accuracy of the complete sunlight reflecting arrangement.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SCHEMATIC DRAWINGS Further features and advantages of the invention are produced from the description of a exemplary embodiments with
reference to the drawings. The drawings are schematic.
Figure 1 shows a cold bended reflector assembly.
Figures 2A and 2B show in each case a detail of arrangements of reflector and reflector holder. Figure 3 show a reflector with fixing elements concerning the state of the art.
Given is a cold bended reflector 1. The cold bended reflector 1 comprises a bended tempered glass sheet 12. The tempered glass sheet comprises a permanent bending 11 resulting in a parabolic shape. On a surface of the bended tempered glass sheet 12 a sunlight reflective coating 13 is attached. This coating comprises silver.
Based on the state of the art the fixation of the reflector 1 is carried out by connection pads glue 30 (figure 3) . In contrast to that concerning the embodiments of the invention for the fixation of the reflector 1 fixing elements 14 with spring elements 141 are used for the fixation (figures 2A and 2B) . A sunlight reflecting arrangement 100 results with at least one bent reflector 1 for reflecting sunlight and with at least one reflector holder 15 for holding the bent
reflector .
The reflector holder 14 is fixed to edges 16 of the reflector 1 by fixing elements 14. At least on of the fixing elements 14 comprises at least one spring element 141. By the spring element 141 the fixing element 14 is elastically deformable. By the fixing element 14 the reflector is clamped. In order to increase the flexibility of the sunlight reflecting arrangement the fixing element 14 and the reflector 1 are connected together by elastomeric separators (pads) 17. Concerning a first embodiment the spring element 141 is a special part of the fixing element 14 (figure 2a) . In an alternative embodiment the spring element 141 is an integral part of the fixing element 14 (figure 2B) . The method for manufacturing the sunlight reflecting
arrangement is carried out as follows: First a tempered flat precursor glass sheet is provided (glass sheet thickness about 5 mm) . This glass sheet is coated by the sunlight reflective coating. After the attaching the sunlight
reflective coating the bending the tempered flat precursor glass sheet with the aid of an external bending force is carried out. The bending is preformed at room or surrounding temperature (about 20°C) . The external bending force which is caused by gravitation or by air pressure results in point pressure at the edges of the precursor sheet. The result is the bent reflector 1.
The next step is the fixing of the bent reflector 1 resulting in a fixing the bending 11 of the reflector 1. This is carried out with the aid of the fixing elements 14, which connect the reflector 1 and the reflector holder 15. After the connecting the reflector 1, the reflector holder 15 and the fixing elements remain connected. This results in the sunlight reflecting arrangement 100 with the reflector 1 and the reflector holder 15.
This sunlight reflecting arrangement 100 is a part of a (not shown) solar collecting assembly, which is used in a solar field for concentrating sunlight. The concentrated sunlight is converted into electrical energy.
