Abstract
Stuffed toys are known to be soft and cuddly thereby providing comfort when held or squeezed. In this invention stuffed toys in the form of balls or other articles used to play sports combine a soft and cuddly quality with the added feature of functionality, which given their plush nature can be used indoors or In a confined space without causing damage to their surroundings. This invention relates to stuffed toys In the form of balls or other articles used to play sports which are soft and cuddly thereby providing comfort when held or squeezed, and which also provide use as a functional object to play certain sports primarily indoors.
Description
stuffed sports toys
Background or trie invention
There are many forms of plush stuffed toys the exteriors of which are constructed from a variety of soft natural or synthetic fabric materials and stuffed with soft natural or synthetic fibers or pellets. These items are often in the form of animals, cartoon characters and other objects but not in the form of toy bails or other articles used to play sports.
There are also a number of toy balls, or other articles used to play sports including items such as pucks, constructed of various synthetic materials such as polyethylene, polyurethane, foam, or items constructed of nylon, plastic or other synthetic exterior with a bladder insert allowing the item to be filled with air. These objects while useful as a sport toy do not have a soft cuddly quality. Furthermore, given their weight and materials of construction, their use indoors or in a confined space may cause damage to their surroundings.
Summary of the Invention
The present invention while maintaining the soft cuddly nature of stuffed toys, allows for functional use as an object to play certain sports, or to practice skills used in those sports in an indoor setting or other confined space without damaging fragile objects in that space or otherwise causing damage to the surroundings.

Detailed Description
The toy illustrated in Figure 1 comprises four equally sized elliptical shaped fabric panels
(1) sewn together such that when stuffed with natural or synthetic fibers or pellets, form a nearly prolate spheroid shaped object slightly pointed at the ends. Strips of fabric or thread
(2) are sewn across the adjoining stitched line between two of the panels to aid in holding and passing the object.
The toy illustrated in Figure 2 comprises four equally sized elliptical shaped fabric panels (1) sewn together such that when stuffed with natural or synthetic fibers or pellets, form a nearly prolate spheroid shaped object that is less pointed at the ends and more elliptical than the object illustrated in Figure 1.
The toy illustrated in Figure 3 comprises eight equally sized panels with two straight perpendicular edges (1), joined by a curved edge (2), sewn together with contrasting colored strips of fabric (3) between each panel such that when stuffed with natural or synthetic fibers or pellets, form a sphere shaped object. The object though generally round, will not necessarily have the symmetrical qualities of a sphere.
The toy illustrated in Figure 4 comprises twenty equally sized hexagon shaped fabric panels (1) and twelve equally sized pentagon shaped fabric panels (2) sewn together such that when stuffed with natural or synthetic fibers or pellets form a sphere shaped object. The object though generally round, will not necessarily have the symmetrical qualities of a sphere.
The toy Illustrated in Figure 5 comprises six main fabric panels (1) rounded on two opposing ends and straight on either side, sewn together such that when stuffed with natural or synthetic fibers or pellets form a sphere shaped object. The six main panels may consist of three smaller panels (2). The object though generally round, will not necessarily have the symmetrical qualities of a sphere.
The toy illustrated in Figure 6 comprises two fabric panels (1), (2) rounded on either opposing end and narrowing toward the center, sewn together such that when stuffed with natural or synthetic fibers or pellets form a sphere shaped object. Strips of fabric or thread may be used to fomn a cross-stitch pattern across the adjoining stitched line between the two panels. The object though generally round, will not necessarily have the symmetrical qualities of a sphere.
The toy illustrated in Figure 7 comprises two fabric panels (1), (2) rounded on either opposing end and narrowing toward the center, sewn together with a contrasting colored strip of fabric (3) between each panel, such that when stuffed with natural or synthetic fibers or pellets form a sphere shaped object. The object though generally round, will not necessarily have the symmetrical qualities of a sphere.
The toy illustrated in Figure 8 comprises two circular fabric panels (1) sewn together with one long strip of straight fabric (2) between them, such that when stuffed with natural or synthetic fibers or pellets form a disk shaped object.
