Abstract

A photovoltaic module comprises a back-contact solar cell and a conductive back sheet including a substrate and a patterned layer of conductive metal supported by the substrate. The photovoltaic module further includes an extruded layer of insulating material including an encapsulating insulating material coextruded with at least one insulating spacer having a higher melting point than the encapsulating insulating material. In further examples methods of making a photovoltaic module and methods of making an extruded layer of insulating material for photovoltaic module are provided.
