Abstract

The present application relates to an aluminium electrolysis plant comprising at least one smelting flux electrolysis cell (30) for the production of aluminium, which comprises a cell wall (32), which laterally encloses at least some parts of the smelting flux electrolysis cell, and at least one heat exchanger (39), which is arranged externally on the cell wall (32). The aluminium electrolysis plant is characterized in that the heat exchanger (39) is designed and positioned in such a way that a controllable amount of heat can be discharged through it from the cell wall (32) and can be fed through it to the cell wall (32).
