Abstract

본 발명은 미디어 컨텐트를 인터넷을 통해 송수신하는 방법 및 장치에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 미디어 컨텐트 전송 방법은, 인터넷을 통해 미디어 컨텐트를 전송하는 방법에 있어서, 상기 미디어 컨텐트를 복수의 레프리젠테이션으로 구성하는 단계; 상기 복수의 레프리젠테이션 각각을 복수의 세그먼트로 분할하는 단계; 상기 복수의 세그먼트 각각을 복수의 서브세그먼트로 분할하는 단계; 상기 복수의 서브세그먼트 각각에 대응하는 복수의 시간 기준 값을 생성하는 단계; 및 상기 레프리젠테이션 중 어느 하나를 전송하는 단계를 포함하고, 상기 전송되는 레프리젠테이션은 상기 복수의 시간 기준 값을 포함한다. 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따르면, 네트워크 상태의 변화에 의해 비트스트림을 스위칭함에 있어서, 미디어 컨텐트가 끊김없이 재생될 수 있다.
