  • Various embodiments of the present invention includes several advantages.
  • Various embodiments of the present invention provide system components and process steps to circulate motor lubricating fluid/oil for a deployed ESP through the frame of a skid or caisson head. While the lubricating fluid/oil travels through the frame, the motor lubricating fluid/oil is cool down by the sea water around the frame. The cooled lubricating fluid/oil is then used to cool components of the motor located within the motor housing—reducing overall motor temperature and correspondingly increasing the life of the equipment.
  • utilization of the frame of the mounting skid or casing head is accomplished by manufacturing multiple structural and/or nonstructural members of the respective frame, generally in tubular form (e.g., hollow along substantial portions of the length of the member), using materials having a high thermal conductivity.
  • utilization of a modified version of an existing frame, rather than employing an entirely system heat exchange component can reduce capital costs, need for additional real estate, etc., and, due to the size of the frame, can provide a large seawater contact surface area and a cooling lubricant volume capability (e.g., 5- 10 times fluid capacity) beyond that previously thought of, and thus, a cooling capability beyond that previously possible.

Abstract

L'invention concerne des systèmes et procédés de refroidissement d'un ensemble pompe submersible électrique (ESP) employé dans un système de pompe sous-marine submersible électrique à surpression. Une structure de cadre de support telle qu'un ensemble plate-forme ou extrémité supérieure de montage d'ESP d'un caisson ayant des éléments structuraux exposés à l'eau de mer environnementale, est modifié ou conçu pour comprendre des conduits de fluide à l'intérieur des éléments structuraux afin d'établir des trajets de lubrifiant pour qu'un lubrifiant puisse s'écouler. Un conduit de lubrifiant chauffé/chaud relie un orifice d'entrée de lubrifiant de la structure de support et un orifice de sortie de lubrifiant du moteur d'ESP. Un conduit de lubrifiant refroidi relie un orifice de sortie de lubrifiant de la structure de support et un orifice d'entrée de lubrifiant du moteur d'ESP. Une pompe ou autre dispositif de déplacement de fluide fait circuler le lubrifiant du moteur d'ESP aux trajets de lubrifiant à l'intérieur de la structure de cadre de support, ce par quoi l'eau de mer refroidit le lubrifiant qui y est contenu qui est recyclé dans le moteur pour aider au refroidissement du moteur.
