- the embodiment of the present invention further provides a more optimized solution for the UE to perform location area update, to further implement fast return of the UE to the GERAN/UTRAN.
- the further solution includes:
- the UE When the UE finds that the location area is inconsistent, and the UE finds that the current network works in a network Modes of Operation (I) scenario (the network mode I is a scenario specified by the 3GPP standard, when in the GERAN/UTRAN network)
- the network mode I When the serving GPRS support node SGSN and the MSC of the CS domain have a Gs interface, that is, the network mode I), the UE initiates a separate Location Area Update LAU procedure.
- the existing standard process is to perform a joint location update process in network mode I, that is, to perform both the LAU process and the Routing Area Update (RAU) process.
- RAU Routing Area Update
- the joint RAU/LAU Updating process is possible.
- the UE may initiate a separate LAU process to circumvent such an impact, and the CSFB process may be accelerated, so that the UE can quickly perform the CS service.
- step S604 after receiving the service reject message, the UE may start a waiting timer. If the timer expires, the UE may actively reselect the GERAN/UTRAN, that is, the UE will work. The mode is switched from the E-UTRAN to the GERAN/UTRAN, and then the suitable cell camping is searched in the wireless environment of the GERAN/UTRAN.
- the method is a supplementary implementation manner of the embodiment of the present invention, and can compensate for the user equipment caused by the network failure. The problem of re-election information sent by the network side but not successfully returned to GERAN/UTRAN cannot be obtained.
