Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a charge control device, a television receiver, and a charge control method that can charge a secondary battery.
  • Patent Document 1 in a secondary battery device including a battery remaining amount monitoring unit, power supply to the battery remaining amount monitoring unit is stopped by shutting off a switch circuit when the voltage of the secondary battery decreases. Techniques to do this are disclosed. According to this technique, since the current consumption of the battery remaining amount monitoring unit becomes 0, the internal current consumption of the secondary battery device can be reduced, and as a result, the battery driving time is prolonged.
  • the life of the secondary battery tends to be shortened.
  • the conventional technology even if the device is always connected to an AC outlet and the device is used with almost no battery drive, as long as power is supplied from an external power source, secondary power generated by this power can be used. The battery is always charged. Further, if the battery is not driven, the secondary battery is hardly discharged. As a result, the fully charged state of the secondary battery will continue for a long time. For this reason, the conventional technology cannot extend the life of the secondary battery.
  • the present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and an object of the present invention is to prevent the occurrence of an event that shortens the life of the secondary battery such that the fully charged state of the secondary battery continues for a long period of time. This is to prolong the life of the secondary battery.
  • a charging control device is a charging control device that controls charging of the secondary battery used in an apparatus that can be driven by both an external power source and a secondary battery, When power is supplied from the external power source to the device, a first mode in which main charging of the secondary battery is performed by power from the external power source, and power from the external power source to the device. And a second mode in which main charging of the secondary battery with electric power from the external power source is not performed even when being supplied.
  • the secondary battery is set until the fully charged state is reached by setting the mode of the charging control device to the second mode. Can be kept from being charged. As a result, the secondary battery continues to be charged even though the device is not driven by the secondary battery for a long period of time, and the fully charged state that causes the deterioration does not continue for a long period of time. Therefore, the lifetime of the secondary battery can be extended.
  • main charging indicates a charging mode in which the secondary battery is continuously charged until the battery is fully charged (the remaining battery level is 100% or substantially 100%). Description

そして、STB120は、取得したコンテンツをDRM(Digital Rights Management)技術を用いて暗号化する。
また、伝送媒体として、IrDAやリモコンのような赤外線、Bluetooth(登録商標)、IEEE80211無線、HDR(High Data Rate)、NFC(Near Field Communication)、DLNA、携帯電話網、衛星回線、地上波デジタル網等の無線によるものを利用しても良い。
