Definitions
- the present invention relates generally to a security detection system for a vehicle. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
- U.S Patent No. 5481253 discloses an anti theft security system which allows the automobile's ignition switch to function only if proper identification code is entered and validated.
- U.S. Patent No. 20100073229 discloses usage of wide area positioning technique to track the location of the vehicle. It also deploys an automatic time adjustment device to synchronize time of the GPS. The information of the vehicle is recorded and displayed in a storage device such as a DVR.
- a security detection system for a vehicle wherein the system includes; i. at least one image or video pick up means;
- a mobile device in communication with at least one display unit, at least one server and the at least one image or video pick up means; wherein the mobile device simultaneously sends alert to the at least one server and the at least one display unit;
- the at least one image or video pick up means communicates with the mobile device to transmit information to the at least one server;
- the at least one display unit displays emergency messages
- the mobile device sends vehicle location information to the at least one server
- the at least one image or video pick up means and the mobile device is activated in the absence of the authorized vehicle user
- At least one panic button triggering activates the at least one image or video pick up means and the mobile device
- the at least one server requests for confirmation from the authorized vehicle user
- alert is deactivated upon receiving confirmation from the authorized vehicle user
- the at least one image or video pick up means continues to communicate with the mobile device to transmit information to the at least one server and the mobile device continues to send vehicle location information to the at least one server.
- FIG. 1 illustrates an embodiment of the invention.
- Figure 2 illustrates vehicle illegal activity detection system during absence of an authorized user.
- Figure 3 illustrates vehicle illegal activity detection system upon triggering of a panic button.
- the vehicle security detection system includes an image or video pick up means (100) such as a camera, a display unit (103), a server (102), a mobile device (101 ) and a panic button (104).
- the image or video pick up means (100) also serve as motion sensor.
- the display unit (103) flashes with an emergency message to alert the passers by during a vehicle illegal activity.
- the panic button is triggered by an authorized vehicle user during an illegal event to alert the passers by.
- the mobile device (101 ) is equipped with a Global Positioning System (GPS) navigation system and is capable of transmitting and receiving multimedia files (i.e. voice, images and data).
- the mobile device (101) communicates with the server (102) wherein the mobile device (101 ) sends and receives information from the server ( 02).
- the server (102) is stored remotely from the vehicle.
- FIG 2 illustrates vehicle illegal activity detection system during absence of an authorized user.
- the image or video pick up means (100) and the mobile device (101 ) is activated in the absence of the authorized vehicle user (2.1 ). Simultaneously, the mobile device (101 ) sends the vehicle's location information to the server (102) (2.2). The information is sent continuously and periodically.
- the image or video pick up means (100) monitor movement within the vehicle (2.3).
- the mobile device (101) monitors location of the vehicle. If any movement is detected within the vehicle or the location of the vehicle has changed in the absence of the authorized user, the mobile device (101 ) triggers an emergency alert and reports to the server (102) (2.5). Simultaneously, the mobile device (101 ) triggers an alert to the display unit (103).
- the display unit (103) flashes with an emergency message to alert the passers by (2.6).
- the server (102) sends and emergency message to the vehicle authorized user notifying him of a possible vehicle illegal activity.
- the image or video pick up means (100) continues to capture images and/or videos within the vehicle at all angles, including images and/or videos of the doors, windscreen, side and rear windows.
- the images and videos are periodically transmitted via the mobile device (101 ) to the server (102) (2.7).
- the mobile device (101 ) continues to monitor the location of the vehicle and reports to the server (102) (2.8).
- the server (102) continues to declare an emergency until a confirmation message is received from the vehicle authorized user. Once the vehicle authorized user provides a confirmation of safety, the server (102) sends a message to turn off the alerts (2.9). If the vehicle authorized user does not provide a safety confirmation, the image or video pick up means (100) continue to capture and transmit images and/or videos (2.7). The mobile device (101 ) continues to monitor the location of the vehicle and reports to the server (102) (2.8).
- the emergency alert can also be integrated to the vehicle alarm system or broadcasted to any car radio station to trigger an alert.
- the alert can also be integrated and broadcasted to the vehicle owner's social network services (i.e. Facebook and Twitter).
- FIG 3 illustrates vehicle illegal activity detection system upon triggering of a panic button.
- the panic button (104) is located within the car and it is within the reach of the authorized vehicle user.
- the panic button (104) is hidden from view and the location is known to the authorized vehicle user.
- the authorized user can trigger the panic button (104).
- the mobile device (101 ) reports to the server (102) (2.5).
- the mobile device (101) sends signal to display unit (103) and the display unit (103) flashes with messages requesting for help (2.6).
- the images and/or videos captured by the image or video pick up means (100) are periodically transmitted via the mobile device (101 ) to the server (102) (2.7).
- the mobile device (101 ) continues to monitor the location of the vehicle and reports to the server (102) (2.8).
- the display unit (103) is installed within the vehicle, and it is not within the view of those present in the vehicle.
- the display unit (103) is installed to capture attention of passers by.
- the emergency messages can be customized.
- the display unit (103) also functions as a third brake light during normal circumstances.
- the vehicle illegal activity mentioned herein includes but not limited to intrusion, hijacking and kidnapping.
