Abstract

Provided is a positive electrode active material, comprising: a core containing a material having an olivine structure; and a carbon-based coating layer formed on at least a portion of the surface of the core, wherein the carbon-based coating layer contains one or more selected from a group consisting of a conductive metal material and the non-metal heterogeneous elements of groups 15 to 17 of the periodic table of the elements. Also provided are a method for preparing the positive electrode active material, and an active electrode and a lithium battery using the positive electrode active material.
