Description

A way of protection of a seal in an assembly sealing a closing component of a ball valve and an assembly sealing a closing component of a ball valve
This invention relates to a way of protection of a seal in an assembly sealing a closing component of a ball valve and to an assembly sealing a closing component of a ball valve, construction of which enables self - protection of the seal in a sediment ring .
It is know, from Polish specification of a patent no 190564, the assembly of a sediment ring of a seal of a closing component of a ball valve, which is made up of the sediment ring and of the seal from plastic, placed in its frontal part from the side of a ball closing component.
The seal is mounted in the circumferential seat made in the sediment ring and it is locked from the frontal part by resisting element. The seal has got, from the frontal side , a conic surface by which it mates with a surface of the ball closing component, and from side of contact with the bottom of circumferential seat, the seal has got a recess.
The resisting element which locks the seal against falling out of the seat of the sediment ring, has a shape of a ring joined separably with the sediment ring by screws fastened on the circuit of the sediment ring. In the resisting element, from the side of the seal, there is a resisting seat made between inner surface of the resisting element and the frontal surface. The resisting seat prevents falling out of the seal from the sediment ring. The seal which is in the circumferential seat, is compressed initially by the resisting element .
The inner diameter of the resisting element is larger than the diameter of the conic surface of the seal on its frontal surface.
The assembly sealing a closing component of a ball valve , as shown in Polish specification of a patent no 190674, is made of a mounting situated by a ball closing component and of a compression ring with compression springs. On the side surface of the mounting, a sealing ring of type"0"is mounted. On the end of the mounting, stable to heat seal is placed freely. The seal touches the compression ring . Seals, in known solutions, are fastened separably. It gives possibility of their disassembly in every situation but it is used occasionally, since basically one exchanges only used seals, which underwent a damage. However, such fastening does not fully prevents protrusion or deformation of the seal in the part from the side of the ball closing component.
Lack of efficient technological elements enabling sure, and as well, effective mounting of a seal in a seat of the sediment ring and in that way preventing its protrusion, is inconvenience of known seals. Protecting of the seal requires using of resisting elements which are additional parts of sealing assembly, thus one enlarges overall dimensions of the sediment ring and prolongs the time of assembly and diassembly of known sealing assembly.
In order to eliminate as described inconveniences one made up an invention, which enables simple and at the same time effective protection of the seal in an assembly sealing a closing component of a ball valve.
A way of protection of a seal in an assembly sealing a closing component of a ball valve, according to the invention, in which the seal, in a non - loaded state, one places in the seat of the sediment ring, characterised in that, during the assembly, one subjects the seal to a load which causes strain of the seal in limits of its elasticity and in that state one shifts the seal deeply, into the seat of the sediment ring, moreover in the moment of position, in which the protrusion of the seal will cover itself with the groove in the sediment ring, stresses are released in the seal and the seal, by its protrusion jumps into the groove of the sediment ring and the seal undergoes self - protection by locking.
An assembly sealing a closing component, according to the invention, having a sediment ring and a seal placed in circumferential seat from the frontal side of the sediment ring characterised in that, the sediment ring in its frontal part, has got a groove, advantageously circumferential, situated in an inner part of the sediment ring, and on a side, outer surface of the seal there is a protrusion, advantageously circumferential.
In assembled state, a joint of the seal with the sediment ring is non- separable, and in that joint the protrusion of the seal is mounted in the groove of the sediment ring.
Advantageously, the groove which is in the sediment ring, has a shape of a cavity with a bottom surface situated parallely to a side surface of the sediment ring and passing with a slope into the seat of the sediment ring, in which the seal is mounted. Solution, according to the invention, reduces costs significantly and it lowers overall dimensions of the sediment ring. Moreover, use of the invention causes decrease of a number of component parts of the whole of sealing assembly, thus also influences decrease of labour demand for making the sealing assembly.
Construction of the assembly facilitates its assembling and effectivelly protects the seal from moving forward from the seat and from damage.
The object of the invention is shown in the example of the accompanying drawing in which fig.l presents a fragment of the sealing assembly in a longitudinal section, fig.2 - enlarged detail B marked in fig.1.
A way of protection of a seal in an assembly sealing a closing component of a ball valve, according to the invention, relies on that one places the seal 2 in the seat 5 of the sediment ring 1 . During the assembly one subjects the seal 2 to a load which causes strain of the seal 2 in limits of its elasticity and in that state one shifts the seal 2 deeply into the seat 5 of the sediment ring L In the moment of position in which the protrusion 4 of the seal 2 will cover itself with the groove 3 in the sediment ring stresses are released in the seal 2 , and the seal 2, by its protrusion 4 jumps into the groove 3 of the sediment ring 1 and it undergoes self - protection by locking.
An assembly sealing a closing component of a ball valve, according to the invention, is made of the sediment ring \ and the seal 2 placed in circumferential seat 5 from the frontal side of the sediment ring L
The sediment ring 1 , in its frontal part has got the grove 3 , advantageously circumferential, situated in an inner part of the sediment ring I , and on a side, outer surface of the seal 2 there is the protrusion 4 , advantageously circumferential.
In assembled state, a joint of the seal 2 with the sediment ring I is non- separable.
In that joint the protrusion 4 of the seal 2 is mounted in the groove 3 of the sediment ring L
The groove 3 in the sediment ring I has got a shape of a cavity with a bottom surface PI situated parallely to a side surface P of the sediment ring land passing with a slope S into the seat 5 of the sediment ring 1, in which the seal 2 is mounted.
