Definitions
- Herbal composition and medicament for promoting poultry health are provided.
- the present invention relates to herbal composition and poultry supplement thereof for promoting poultry health.
- the present invention relates to herbal composition and medicament thereof for treatment of Coccidiosis.
- Poultry comes from the French/Norman word, poule, itself derived from the Latin word Pullus, which means small animal. Poultry is a category of domesticated birds kept by humans for the purpose of collecting their eggs, or killing for their meat and/or feathers.
- the poultry includes chickens, ducks, guinea fowl, turkeys, geese as well as live birds, wild birds (including caged birds).
- Poultry provides globally important sources of animal protein and are amongst the most intensively reared of all livestock species. Diseases of poultry are therefore of major concern, both locally and on an international scale. It is also important to consider the concept of, and the need for, bio-security or the range of management procedures designed to protect livestock from infection. In contrast to modern poultry production, village-based poultry production is often characterized by a range of diseases occurring at the same time. Most often free-range poultry have sub-clinical infections with a high number of endoparasites and ectoparasites. The scheme illustrates about the problems which are associated with poultry and diseases caused to poultry which can be further spread and measures which can be taken to promote healthy poultry.
- Coccidiosis is also referred as Coccidia, Coxy, or Cocci is a major disease of poultry caused by a protozoan-type parasite. This parasite lives and multiplies in the intestinal tract and causes tissue damage. This damage can interfere with the food digestion and nutrient absorption, as well as causing dehydration and blood loss. The tissue damage can also expose the bird to bacterial infections, like Clostridium and Salmonella. Diseases that suppress the bird's immune system may act with coccidiosis to produce a more severe problem. For example, Marek's Disease may interfere with the development of coccidiosis immunity and Infectious Bursal Disease may exacerbate a coccidia infection.
- Clinical signs of coccidiosis can range from none to bloody droppings, watery diarrhea (flushing), weight loss, paleness, sick bird appearance (ruffled feathers, huddling, depression). Affected birds do not eat and will sometimes march from feed pan to feed pan, vocalizing a high pitched cry. Mortality can range from mild to severe, depending on the species of coccidia involved. All ages of poultry are susceptible to infection, but the disease usually resolves itself around 6 - 8 weeks of age. The birds are most sensitive between 3 - 5 weeks of age, when the coccidia oocysts are the most numerous in feces or litter. Many times the disease is subclinical and the flock may only show poor weight gains or feed conversions at the end of grow-out.
- Birds infected with coccidia may shed oocysts in their feces for days or weeks. Susceptible birds in the same flock ingest the infective or sporulated oocysts in the litter, soil, feed or water and become infected. Infected feces or litter on boots, clothing, equipment, darkling beetles or in dust can then spread the disease to other houses or farms. Outbreaks occur when susceptible birds ingest massive numbers of sporulated oocysts. The best conditions for oocyst sporulation occur in wet litter with warm temperatures. Oocysts can survive up to four years in the environment if conditions are right.
- Coccidiosis causes the poultry industry to suffer a considerable economic loss, especially in the production of broiler chickens. Chickens are susceptible to at least 1 1 species of coccidia.
- Coccidiosis is prevented through good sanitation and litter management. Coccidia oocysts are very resistant to harsh environmental conditions and common disinfectants, so changing the litter after each brood will reduce the number of oocysts the birds can ingest.
- Anticoccidial medication is commonly added to poultry feed as a preventative measure against the disease. These medications act to either kill or stop development of the parasite. Some medications, like ionophors - Coban, Avatec, allow leakage of oocysts, so the birds can build up immunity to the parasite. Changing types of anticoccidial medications reduces the chance of the coccidia parasite to become resistant to one type of medication. The introduction of the anticoccidal medication in the bird's feed does not guarantee the bird's consumption of the same. Empty feed pans, hot weather or another disease problem that will cause the birds to stop eating the medicated feed, does not stop them from picking at the litter and ingesting more coccidia oocysts.
- coccidiosis Treatment of coccidiosis is important tool to control an outbreak.
- Amprolium, sulfadimethoxine, and sulfaquinoxaline are effective against coccidia as a treatment, however toxicity and withdrawal times need to be a concern when using sulfa-drugs.
- Herbs like erberis aristata, Holarrhena antidyssentrica, Momordica dioica, Melia azedarah, Melia azadirachta are known in the art for the treatment of coccidiosis.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION:
The present invention relates to herbal composition and poultry supplement thereof for promoting poultry health.
The present invention relates to herbal composition and medicament thereof for treatment of Coccidiosis.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION:
Poultry comes from the French/Norman word, poule, itself derived from the Latin word Pullus, which means small animal. Poultry is a category of domesticated birds kept by humans for the purpose of collecting their eggs, or killing for their meat and/or feathers. The poultry includes chickens, ducks, guinea fowl, turkeys, geese as well as live birds, wild birds (including caged birds).
Poultry provides globally important sources of animal protein and are amongst the most intensively reared of all livestock species.
Scheme 1
The low productivity of poultry in traditional systems is mainly due to high mortality, which is caused by mismanagement, diseases, lack of nutritional feeding and predators. In most family poultry flocks, disease is an important problem. Diagnosis, treatment and / or prevention of diseases are of major importance to any attempts at increasing productivity. In commercial production systems chickens are therefore routinely vaccinated against major diseases such as Newcastle Disease, Mareks Disease, Infectious bronchitis, Avian Influenza and others, depending on the specific situations and recommendations in each country.
Coccidiosis is also referred as Coccidia, Coxy, or Cocci is a major disease of poultry caused by a protozoan-type parasite.
Clinical signs of coccidiosis can range from none to bloody droppings, watery diarrhea (flushing), weight loss, paleness, sick bird appearance (ruffled feathers, huddling, depression).
Birds infected with coccidia may shed oocysts in their feces for days or weeks.
Coccidiosis causes the poultry industry to suffer a considerable economic loss, especially in the production of broiler chickens. Chickens are susceptible to at least 1 1 species of coccidia.
Coccidiosis is prevented through good sanitation and litter management. Coccidia oocysts are very resistant to harsh environmental conditions and common disinfectants, so changing the litter after each brood will reduce the number of oocysts the birds can ingest.
Anticoccidial medication is commonly added to poultry feed as a preventative measure against the disease. Treatment of coccidiosis is important tool to control an outbreak.
Amprolium, sulfadimethoxine, and sulfaquinoxaline are effective against coccidia as a treatment, however toxicity and withdrawal times need to be a concern when using sulfa-drugs.
Herbs like erberis aristata, Holarrhena antidyssentrica, Momordica dioica, Melia azedarah, Melia azadirachta are known in the art for the treatment of coccidiosis.
According to our knowledge, nobody has researched on the combination of Allium cepa, Allium satuvum and Peucedanum grande for the promoting poultry health as well as for treatment of Coccidiosis.

To achieve our object of the invention, we studied the combination of Allium cepa, Allium sativum and Peucedanum grande in different proportions and their effect on promoting poultry health as well as for the treatment of Coccidiosis.
Peucedanum grande is commonly known as 'Hill carrot' (also known as 'Bafli' in Marathi) which is an herb from the carrot family. Bafli is also called Wild Carrot and is found in the Western Ghats. The fruit is used in curries as a flavouring agent. The infusion of the fruit is used in doses of ½ to 1 ounce like that of fennel seeds, as carminative, diuretic and stimulant in flatulency, gastric and intestinal disorders, etc.
The botanical name of ga lic is Allium sativum. Garlic is a good source of vitamins A, B l , B2, and C, enzymes, minerals and trace elements. Garlic has so many benefits for humans so it is not surprising that it can also benefit many animals and birds including poultry. It can help in maintaining a clear respiratory system and reduce infections or worms in the gut. A natural granular supplement containing garlic supports a healthy immune system in all poultry and waterfowl, and will help to keep clear airways and prevent respiratory problems.
The botanical name of onion is Allium cepa. Onions are a major source of polyphenols in general, and also of flavonoids (a very important subdivision of polyphenols). They can also vary greatly in their polyphenol and flavonoid content Polyphenols are one of the largest categories of phytonutrients in food. This category includes all flavonoids as well as tannins. The sulfur compounds in onion can lower blood levels of cholesterol and triglycerides, and also improve cell membrane function in red blood cells.
While onion is not as well researched as garlic in terms of specific inflammatory health problems like rheumatoid arthritis or allergic airway inflammation, this Allium vegetable has nevertheless been shown to provide important anti-inflammatory benefits. In animal studies,
onions have shown potential for improvement of blood sugar balance. Most of the animal studies have been conducted on rats, and most have used onion juice or onion extract as the form of onion tested. While not as well researched as garlic in terms of antibacterial benefits, onion has nevertheless been shown to help prevent bacterial infection. Onions are a very good source of immune-supportive vitamin C, blood-sugar-balancing chromium, and heart-healthy dietary fiber. They are also a good source of enzyme-activating manganese and molybdenum; heart-healthy vitamin B6, foliate, and potassium; energy-producing phosphorus; and bone- supportive copper.
Therefore, research has been always carried out with new medicaments which can be used to promote poultry health.
