Abstract

본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 반사형 멀티 컬러 전기 영동 디스플레이 장치는, 디스플레이면을 제공하는 제 1 기판 및 상기 제 1 기판에 대향하는 제 2 기판; 상기 제 1 및 제 2 기판들 사이에 형성된 복수의 캐비티들; 상기 복수의 캐비티들 내에 충전되는 투명 유체; 상기 캐비티들 중 컬러 서브 픽셀을 구성하는 캐비티에 각각 분산되고 상기 컬러 서브 픽셀에 대응하는 컬러를 갖는 컬러 전기 영동 입자들 및 상기 컬러 전기 영동 입자들과 다른 전기 영동 이동도를 갖는 백색 전기 영동 입자들; 상기 제 2 기판측의 상기 컬러 서브 픽셀들의 배경이 되는 흑색층; 및 상기 전기 영동 입자들 중 어느 한 종류의 입자들을 상기 디스플레이면측으로 선택적으로 분산시키거나, 상기 디스플레이면으로부터 보이지 않도록 상기 전기 영동 입자들 모두를 수집하기 위한 복수의 전극들을 포함한다.
