  • Mn contains 1.2 to 1.4 wt%. Mn can prevent the occurrence of cracks by S by increasing S with MnS. Manganese is less effective at less than 1.2wt%, and if it is added in excess of 1.4wt%, the weldability and workability may be reduced.
  • Carbon equivalent is an empirical value that is the sum of the components of steel and the numerical expression of its effect on hardenability.

  • the alloy for tower flange according to an embodiment of the present invention satisfies the carbon equivalent value of 0.43 or less to maintain high toughness and high strength, but no problem in weldability.
  • Cr suppresses austenite grain growth and produces dense pearlite, thereby increasing strength and improving corrosion and oxidation resistance.
  • Cr contains 0.08 to 0.1 wt%. Cr improves strength, hardenability and corrosion resistance by preventing coarsening of austenite grains and producing fine pearlite. If it is less than 0.08wt%, the effect is insignificant, and if it exceeds 0.1wt%, weldability will be inhibited.
  • Mo serves to simultaneously improve ductility and toughness by increasing grain boundary strength and retarding the formation of pearlite and cementite.
  • Mo is contained in 0.003 to 0.05 wt%. If the amount is less than 0.003wt%, the effect is insufficient, and if it is more than 0.05wt%, the weldability may be inhibited.
  • V contains 0.01 to 0.05 wt%. V combines with C and N during hot rolling to form carbonitride and increase strength. • Ni contains 0.01 to 0.05 wt%. Ni prevents hot cracks that occur when the Cu content is excessive, and empirically adds twice the amount of Cu. When added excessively, weldability may fall.
  • Cu contains 0.01 to 0.05 wt%. If Cu is added less than 0.01wt%, the effect of hydrogen delayed fracture is insignificant. If it is more than 0.05wt%, hot shortness may occur that decreases the hot workability generated during hot working and the surface of the steel sheet during hot rolling. Cu may be concentrated, making it difficult to descale during pickling.
  • Si is included. Si increases the strength through solid solution strengthening, thereby recovering the possibility of strength degradation caused by the limitation of Cr and Mo without increasing the carbon equivalent, and also improving the corrosion resistance.
  • Si contains 0.4-0.5 wt%. Si may improve the hardenability of the steel sheet by solid solution strengthening, and may be less effective when it exceeds 0.5 wt% or less than 0.4 wt%.
  • P is contained in 0.02 wt% or less. P may contribute to securing strength, and when it exceeds 0.02 wt%, weldability may be degraded and work brittleness may occur.
  • S is contained in 0.015wt% or less.
  • S has a side that contributes to the strength improvement by generating CuS, MnS, but when it exceeds 0.015wt%, coarse emulsion-based inclusions may cause cracks and lower physical properties.
  • Al contains 0.02 to 0.05 wt%. Al may be added to deoxidize and refine the particle size. If Al is less than 0.02 wt%, the effect is insignificant, and if Al exceeds 0.05 wt%, Al may be a factor that impairs workability and strength.
  • Nb is contained in 0.05 wt% or less. Nb may be combined with C and N during hot rolling to form a denitride. Carbonitride suppresses grain growth and refines grains, which may result in enhanced toughness and precipitation strengthening after hot rolling and cooling. If it exceeds 0.05 wt%, the increase in strength may be insignificant due to a decrease in ductility and an increase in solid solution rather than a refinement effect.
  • N includes 0.015 wt% or less.
  • nitride may be formed and precipitated, which may cause ductility deterioration, which may negatively affect ductility.
