Abstract

The invention relates to an aircraft comprising: a sealed volume forming an air cushion above which a cabin is arranged, said sealed volume extending substantially across the entire width of the aircraft and comprising: - at least one inlet opening via which compressed air enters said sealed volume; - at least two main discharge outlets via which the compressed air contained in the sealed volume is discharged to the atmosphere, said at least two main discharge outlets being arranged symmetrically with respect to a longitudinal median plane of symmetry of the aircraft and each comprising both a rotary regulating means for varying the orientation of the air jet discharged in a plane parallel to said longitudinal median plane of symmetry of the aircraft and a means for adjusting the flowrate of discharged air; and at least one air compressor means allowing air to be drawn in from the atmosphere and compressed before it enters the sealed volume by passing via said at least one inlet opening.
