Abstract

Mechanism for raising and lowering a tower comprising a tower base (11) and a tower segment (12) joined to the tower base (11) with freedom of pivoting in order to move from a first substantially horizontal position (P1) to a second substantially vertical position, and/or vice versa, the mechanism being adapted for causing a change of position of the tower segment (12). The mechanism is operated manually and comprises an actuator for causing the change of position of the tower segment (12), a multiplier attached to the actuator, and at least one tension cable that is connected at one end to the multiplier and which is connected at the other end to the tower segment (12) of the tower (1), the multiplier causing the force exerted by a user on the actuator to multiply when it is applied on the tension cable.
