Abstract

The present invention relates to a cathode active material for a lithium secondary battery, wherein the cathode active material can be expressed by chemical formula 1 below. [Chemical formula 1] _(LixNa1.5-x)a(Z)z((V)(O1.5-f))1-z(XO4)Ff (In chemical formula 1: Z is an element which is a metal element additive (metal element dopant) and is selected from the group consisting of Fe, Ni, Co, Mn, Cr, Zr, Nb, Cu, Ti, Zn, Al, Ga, Mg and Ca and combinations thereof; X is an element selected from the group consisting of P, S, Si, Mo, As and W and combinations thereof; a, x and z are respectively real numbers which satisfy 0 < a ≤ 1, 0 < x ≤ 1.5, 0 ≤ z ≤ 0.5; and f is a real number which is determined in such a way as to achieve electroneutrality in the compound and satisfies 0.5 ≤ f ≤ 1.5.
