Abstract

L'invention concerne un appareil et un procédé pour le traitement de charges d'hydrocarbures. Le procédé permet d'améliorer la conversion de charges d'hydrocarbures en éthylène. En particulier, les présentes techniques consistent à exposer une charge contenant des hydrocarbures à des conditions de fonctionnement à haute sévérité dans un réacteur de pyrolyse et à séparer le produit réactionnel du réacteur en un premier produit présentant de l'hydrogène et en un second produit comprenant ≥ 90 moles pour cent d'acétylène dans le produit réactionnel. Ensuite, le second produit est mis à réagir avec un catalyseur dans un convertisseur afin de former de l'éthylène.
