Abstract

The present invention relates to a novel use of fenugreek extracts. More particularly, the present invention relates to a composition for preventing and treating brain cancer, wherein the composition contains, as active ingredients, ethanol extracts from fenugreek. The present invention also relates to a functional food for preventing brain cancer, comprising sitologically acceptable food additives, and containing, as active ingredients, ethanol extracts from fenugreek. The composition and functional food for treating brain cancer according to the present invention may exhibit the effects of inhibiting the growth of brain cancer cells and of inducing apoptosis, and thus can be effectively used in the treatment and prevention of brain cancer.
