Description

DEVICE AT A MOUNTING FRAME The present invention relates to a device at a mounting frame for pictures and other information carriers, such as for example advertising, information and similar, and which is adapted to form a suspension means along at least one side of the angularly shaped frame in a concealed way along a holding flange of the frame.
An information carrier, which is mounted by means of a mounting frame of the described type, has turned out to lack enough stability laterally, i.e. in the direction perpendicular to the front of the information carrier itself, which is viewed at the place where it is mounted, for example on a wall. It does not look good if the entire information carrier collapses, for example in direction downwards because of its own weight, or if the entire information carrier should get a thrust sideways. An example of a known mounting frame is disclosed in
SE 533 246 C2.
Consequently, it is an object of the present invention to obtain support of information
carriers which are suspended in the way described above.
A device for mounting canvas material in holders known by WO 03/073400 A3 is shown in Figs. 8-10 of said publication, and is formed by parts (36, 42) which are arranged in pairs. A thickened end portion (66) of the canvas (14) is received in a groove (48) in the outer part (42), but then the canvas is angled upwards, so that it extends along and in direction towards the outside of the outer part (42). The inner part (36) only functions as a holder for the outer frame part (42) when it is screwed between loose and stretched state of the canvas (14) .
A further object of the invention is to achieve a multi-function when information carriers are supported, and by means of one and the same device.
Among other things the problems described above are solved by means of a device according to the present invention, which is mainly characterized in that from said holding flange of the frame a supporting profile flange is extending, that said supporting profile flange is extending along an essential part of the edge portion of a surrounding information carrier, whereby said edge portion is guided and supported from the inside of the information carrier by said supporting profile flange which is located on the inside.
The invention is described in the following as a number of preferred embodiments, whereby it is referred to the accompanying drawings, in which:

It is illustrated in the drawings how to use profiles in order to come close to a wall and how to produce support by means of two adjacent frames in profile when mounting picture sections, for example, whereby the frames become supports for the picture. The invention can be used to make two-sided advertisement boards and cubes by joining two frames. The figures also illustrate how the profile has got a double function of exposing pictures. In addition to pictures of corrugated cardboard it is also possible to fasten pictures of canvas, whereby it is illustrated how to fasten the canvas picture and how to fasten the picture of corrugated cardboard, respectively, as on previously described profiles. Both variants can be used at the same time, i.e. you can have a permanent picture in the canvas frame at the same time as it is possible to expose a picture of corrugated cardboard temporarily, without it being necessary to touch the basic picture. It is possible to insert pictures into foamed materials, at the same time as it is possible to use the frame in order to expose pictures of corrugated cardboard. Plane as well as curved exposures are possible. In addition to pictures of corrugated cardboard, it is possible to use the frame for convex applications. You can make a two-sided advertisement board, which is to be suspended in the ceiling, in that two frames are coupled together against each other. The joining of pictures, which are composed of several portions, may be performed by mounting the frames on the wall at an appropriate distance from each other in order to be able to press the corrugated cardboard in between. The angular rim stabilizes the information carrier and prevents it from being deformed and glide downwards, or at least makes it more difficult.
A variant of the present invention relates to a device at a mounting frame, which exhibits means for holding outer as well as inner information carriers. W
It is a problem when mounting tapestries and/or posters and information carriers of corrugated cardboard or similar that one of said two objects first has to be removed in order to then be able to mount the 5 other of said two objects. It is then desirable to be able to use a simple device, by means of which both mounting alternatives can be performed in an effective, timesaving and cost-reducing way.
Said object is reached by means of a
10 device according to the present invention, where a part of a holding flange for holding outer information carriers and a part of a clamping part for clamping inner information carriers, respectively, together form a support for an essential part of the edge portion of a surrounding
15 outer information carrier, whereby said edge portion is guided and supported by said supporting profile flange part and clamping part, which are located on the inside.
Further, the invention relates to a device at a mounting frame, which is adapted to form a supporting
20 means along at least one side of the angularly shaped
frame in a concealed way along a holding flange of the frame .
The mounting of tapestries and/or posters in shops or other appropriate places, where you wish to 25 mount them with a good result, does not always turn out to be so good, among other things owing to lack of knowledge or good basic materials.
Mounting in a correct and simple way is achieved in that the holding flange is double and makes it 30 possible to receive a part of an end edge portion of an outer surrounding information carrier in angled folded position . A device 1 at a mounting frame 2 for pictures and other information carriers 3, such as for example advertising, information and similar, and which is adapted to form a suspension means of the square or in any other way angularly shaped frame 2 in a concealed way along a holding flange 4 of the frame 2, exhibits means, which stabilizes the information carrier 3 in the direction 6, 7 along the plane of exhibition 5 of said information carrier 3.
Said means comprises a supporting profile flange 8, which extends from said holding flange 4 of the frame 2 at an angle X, and which exhibits a certain length A. The respective supporting profile flange 8 extends along an essential part L of an edge portion 9 of a connecting information carrier, seen in the direction between bending- and folding lines 10, 11 of the edge portion 9 of the information carrier 3, adjacent to the front 12 and mounting flap 13, respectively, of the information carrier.
Thereby, said edge portion 9 of the information carrier 3 is guided and supported from the inside of the information carrier 3 itself by said supporting profile flange 8 which is located on the inside.
Preferably, the frame 2 is formed by a square profile, which either can be built and releasably mounted to form a frame or which is formed by a permanent angular frame with profiles around the entire periphery or only along certain parts thereof and, by means of an outer flap 13 on the respective surrounding edge portion of the information carrier, the information carrier 3 can be received behind the holding flange 4 of said respective profile in the space 14 lying behind said flange and being intended for that purpose. Said space 14 is formed by the holding flange 4 of the frame 2 and a portion 24 of the frame 2, which is adapted to abut closely against a wall 30 or another surface, on which the frame 2 is fastened. According to the invention the supporting profile flange 8 extends substantially congruently, and preferably substantially perpendicularly, to the edge portion 9 of the connecting information carrier along its entire periphery.
The length A of said supporting profile flange 8, seen in the direction from the holding flange 4 of the frame 2, is at least 10-50% of the length L of said edge portion 9 of an information carrier 3.
As is illustrated in Fig. 7, the frame profiles 2A, 2B... are connected by means of a preferably angled connector 16 at the corners of said profiles, which preferably are made of metal, such as aluminium, or any other suitable material, for example plastics, wood, etc. The respective ends of the connector 16 are received in mating grooves 17 in coupling profiles 21.
In the drawings profiles 2A, 2B are illustrated, which exhibit a length A of the respective profile flanges 8 of 15 mm, 30 mm, and 50 mm, but, of course, other lengths may be chosen.
In Figs. 1-12 of the drawings external mounting of information carriers 3 is illustrated. Figs. 13-16 also illustrates examples of internal support of information carriers 103, 203 in the form of for example textile material or foamed material. Thereby the inside of a profile flange 108; 208 forms a holding part for a further inner information carrier 103; 203.
A carrier 220 or clamping part 120
extending at an angle from or parallel to said supporting profile flange 108; 208 forms support for said further inner information carrier 103; 203, and the carrier 220 extending at an angle from said supporting profile flange 208 extends perpendicularly from the associated profile flange. The clamping of a thickened portion 150 of the information carrier 103 may be effected between parallel flanges 108, 120, as is illustrated in Figs. 13 and 14.
The outer portion of the supporting profile flange 8; 208; 308 of the frame 202 exhibits an end portion 15; 115, which is angled inwards.
In order to make it possible to suspend information carriers 303 in line with each other or next to one another "back to back" suspension means 314, for example in the form of loops for a wire, are connected to said respective profile flange 308.
A device 401 at a mounting frame 402 for pictures and other information carriers 403, such as for example advertising, information and similar, and which is adapted to form a supporting means along at least one side of the frame 402 in a concealed way along a holding flange of the frame 402, comprises means which are suitable for that purpose. Means for holding an outer information carrier 403 as well as an inner information carrier 404 form a part of a holding flange 405 and a clamping part 406, respectively, and which together form a support for the edge portion 409 of an outer information carrier.
More precisely, a part 407 of a holding flange 405, which is adapted to hold an outer information carrier 403, and a part 408 of a clamping part 406, which is arranged to clamp an inner information carrier 404, together form a support for an essential part D of the edge portion 409 of a surrounding outer information carrier. Thereby, said edge portion 409 is guided and supported by said supporting profile flange part 407 and clamping part 408, which are located on the inside. At least one said device 401 is located at the top of said mounting frame 402, but it is suitable to arrange equally along the periphery of the entire frame, i.e. at the top as well as along the sides 410, 411, and at the bottom 412.
In order to obtain a simple and straight mounting of an information carrier 404, which is located on the inside, said mounting frame 402, which is adapted to support an information carrier 403, which is located on the outside, exhibits a hook-shaped flange 413, which is adapted to support an inner information carrier 404, which can be mounted inside an outer information carrier 403. Said inner information carrier 404 exhibits a releasably attached guiding rim 414, which can be taped, glued, welded, clamped or in any other suitable way attached to said carrier. Said guiding rim 414, which can be formed by a stiff profile of metal/plastic, may exhibit a thickened end portion 415, which is adapted to be hooked on said hook-shaped supporting flange 413. A clamping part 406 is by means of a bearing portion 416 pivotally mounted 417 round a bearing part 418 of the flange 405 for supporting the outer information carrier 403, which suitably is made of corrugated cardboard of suitable type, while the inner information carrier 404 suitably is made of a soft tapes- try similar to a canvas, which is fastened to the respective, at the edge located guiding rim 14 by means of tape, which is adhesive on both sides. The clamping part 406, which can be a part extending along the entire width/ height of the information carrier, or only along portions thereof or only at the top, may be provided with spring means 419, for example in the form of spring sheet (s), which is/are fastened between notches 420, 421 at the flange 405 and at the clamping part 406, respectively, W
10 whereby the pre-loaded spring means 419 tends to clamp the clamping part 406 in the direction 422 towards said inner information carrier 404, against a portion 423 of the frame 402. The frame 402 can be fastened to a wall 430, 5 for example, by means of screws, nails, etc. through the frame portion 424.
Figs. 17-20 illustrate the snap-on rim 402 complete with the guiding rim 414 for tapestries 404. The guiding rim 414 is taped to the tapestry/poster 404 by
10 means of tape, which is adhesive on both sides. This is in order to simplify the mounting in shops or in other places, and to eliminate the risk of bad mounting. Due to the fact that the rim 414 is fastened to the banderol 404, it can simply be suspended from the snap-on rim 413 and
15 the tapestry 404 can be let down, whereupon the other
three rims are closed with a snap.
