Furthermore, TGF- ⁇ induced EMT was significantly inhibited by Compound I in both cells as demonstrated by an upregulation of E-cadherin and downregulation of CTGF and collagen 1. Furthermore, Compound I alone was able to downregulate basal expression of CTGF and collagen 1.
