Abstract

The tester for the determination of machine rotation direction and investigation of stator winding correct connection along with the hardware and software electrically links the individual pairs of Hall probes with two digital inputs of the microprocessor. This electrical link can be carried out with the programmable logic device CPLD, or, if the processor is efficient enough, this connection or the choice of the individual pairs of signals can be conducted by the processor itself. The microprocessor measures and calculates the ratio between interval, when the digital signals of the current Hall probes are equal throughout one period, and total time, during which the signals are digitally equal or different (it is actually the period of the Hall probes signals).
