Abstract
Disclosed in the present invention are a load control method and a device. The method comprises: an access network device obtains information on the type of a user equipment (UE); the access network device determines the admission control mode for the UE according to the type information and to the load status; the access network device controls the access of the UE into the network according to said admission control mode. In the embodiments of the present invention, an access network device can use different processing modes for different types of terminals according to the UE type information and the load status measured by the network, thereby controlling the impact of machine type communication (MTC) terminal access on existing networks, with no significant rise in signal costs.
