Abstract

L'invention porte sur un cathéter d'aspiration de type à échange rapide comprenant une partie distale ayant une forme transversale arrondie, prise transversale à un axe longitudinal du cathéter. Une lumière primaire à travers le cathéter a une dimension et une forme, et s'étend à travers le cathéter à un emplacement, qui sont optimisés pour une aspiration. En particulier, la dimension de la lumière primaire est rendue maximale par rapport au diamètre externe du cathéter par réduction au minimum des épaisseurs des parois intérieures du cathéter. Une telle optimisation rend maximale la vitesse à laquelle un fluide s'écoule à travers le cathéter d'aspiration, sans compromettre la capacité du cathéter à supporter une pression négative (c'est-à-dire, un vide). La présente invention porte également sur des systèmes dans lesquels le cathéter est utilisé conjointement avec un cathéter de guidage et un fil, sur des systèmes dans lesquels le cathéter est utilisé conjointement avec un élément d'aspiration, et sur des procédés d'utilisation du cathéter.
