This is enabled through construction components included in basic set or through replaceable components.
Description
Model Stand
Field of technology
This technical solution concerns a light flexible modular system stand to be used for building, maintenance, transport, and storage of RC airplane models or its components.
Present state of technology
Up to now standard types of the stands are known, single or adjustable for different lengths and shapes of the fuselages. Simple stands have fixed construction designed for models of a particular shapes and length, alternatively for more models of nearly same shape and size. Mostly they are made of solid plastics, polystyrene or timber. Adjustable stands are made for bigger models mainly. These stands are usually of more sturdy construction made of sections, used materials are aluminium alloys or steel predominantly. All of these stands are used for the purpose of placing the fuselage of the model into the bearing aiming its stabilization during the work. For the transport of the airplane models the polystyrene boxes inserted in the bags are used, however these boxes serve again just for a particular type of the airplane or boat model only. Besides this there is portable foam bearing, in which the fuselage with mounted wings can be placed in. Carrying straps are connected to the trunk of the construction.
Core of technological solution
The aim of technical solution is to create universal stand for models, which will enable bearing while building, maintenance and transport and storage. The stand enable to store more components or more models in one column on top of one another. Another aim is to ensure adaptability for different airplane models. This is enabled through construction components included in basic set or through replaceable components.
Set up aim is going to be achieved through stand according the technical solution. The stand is made up from front and back part joined by coupling prisms. There are placing apertures or storage recess for placing of the components of dismantle model or fully composed airplane model.
There is possible to insert the inset into the storage recesses in order to place different components or different airplane models.
Connection between front and back part by coupling prisms is usually made in demountable way. This enable to fold up the stand and save the space.
There are apertures in the front and back parts which enable to slide the coupling prisms, thus it is possible to regulate the length of the stand.
Coupling prisms has angular shapes and plug-in apertures are rounded. Through that the self- clinching between prisms and apertures is ensured.
There are external dovetail protrusions in the upper part and internal dovetail. External dovetail protrusion fits into internal dovetail recesses so it is possible to store a part of the stand on top of another easily.
To enable a placement of flat parts, e. g. the airplane wings, the storage recesses can be procured by notches.
The front and back parts and coupling prisms are made of the materials on the basis of elastomer, e. g. ethyl vynil acetate copolymer.
To ensure easy transport and carrying the coupling prisms can be equipped with cover with straps. There are bending furrows on the cover. This is to ensure easy bending of the coat around the airplane model. This coat can be used as well as a worktop for the fieldwork.
The cover is equipped with the apertures to insert the handle.
Overview of the figures on the drawings
The stand according the technical solution is figured on attached drawings. In Fig. 1 there is a dismantled stand, in Fig. 2 there is assembled stand. In Fig. 3 there is assembled stand completed with an inset inserted into the storage recess. On Fig. 4 there are more stands placed one on the top of another. Figures 5 and 6 represent different designs of the front and back parts, Fig. 7 the stand with a cover. In Fig. 8 there is an upper part of the cover equipped with handle and on Fig. 9 there is the same upper part in transverse section in plain A-A. On Fig. 10 there is unfolded cover, Fig. 11 displays same unfolded cover in view "?". In Fig.12 and Fig.13 there are shown the various versions of the bending groove on the packaging.
Example of a Technical Solution
As is shown in the drawings, basic components of the model stand are front and back parts (1) and coupling prisms made of ethyl-vinyl acetate copolymer. While folding, coupling prisms (2) are slide into the plug-in apertures (3) created in front and back parts (1). Plug-in apertures equipped with rounding (r) in the corners and coupling prisms are equipped with sharp edges. When the coupling prisms (2) are plugged into the apertures (3), sharp edges of coupling prisms (2) are pressed and there is a back pressure into rounding (r) in the corners of plug-in apertures (3) due to elasticity of material. This way the solid self-locking and in the same time demountable joints between front and back fronts (1) and coupling prisms is achieved (2). There are storage apertures and recesses (Z) in front and back parts (1) to insert the model components or assembled model. If there is a need to store more components of the models, it is possible to create a set of joined front and back parts (1) by the connection created by external dovetail protrusion (4) located on lower front part (1), which can be plugged into internal dovetail recess (5) on the upper connected part (1). According to the shape of the stored components in the stand it is possible to place an inset with necessary auxiliary recess (15) into the storage recess (7). In this figure of the performance there is a storage recess (7)
supplemented by the notch on storage recess (14) according to the shape of stored model component (e. g. wing of the airplane). As shown in Figure 7, the assembled stand with placed components and airplane model is fitted around the perimeter with a cover (10). The unfolded mantle supplemented by bending notches (13) is pictured on Figure 10. As shown on Figures 12 and 13, bending notches can be of different shapes. On Figure 12 there are bending notches performed only on one side of the cover (10), whereas on the Figure 13 there are bending notches on the both sides of the cover (10). The cover (10) is gird around the stand and is bended in the notches (13) and the handle (12) is placed into the holes (11). The handle (12) is used for carrying of whole stand. In the field the cover can be unfolded and used as a worktop. In another embodiment the cover can be made of the boards made of polyethylene foam, which may be covered by fabric and sewed together. Cover may be supplemented (11) by velcros as well.
The sets of stands are being secured against mutual shift by the clips (16). As shown in the figure number 16, clips are being installed into the front and back parts of the stands (1 and 27) by the blade. The clips are inserted into the notch (17) and groove (18).
To make the transport of the set of the stands with the airplane models easier it is possible to hang the carrying straps (29) on the clips (16, Figure 14 and 15) or to store them together with another set of the stand (figure 20).
On the Figure 14 and 15 there is an alternative compilation of the stand for model of the airplane with divided wing. The set is consisted of the stand for fuselage, stand for parts of the wings and segment 26 for storage of shorter connecting tubes (Figure 15).
As substitution of the expansion prisms (Figure 19) there are props supplemented by notches 22 23 24 (Figure 14) and holes 28 (Figure 17).
The notches 22 and 23 enables easy adaptation to a particular fuselage of the airplane model. Notches 24 enable the creation of the flange 21 in order of securement against the movement. The adaptation to the stands is through usage of snap-off knife.
Deformation zone 19 it to eliminate the curvature of the wing profile.
Configuration of the stand for a model with propeller, tail wheel and undivided wing (Figure 17). Stand is supplemented by the hinged support 27. Process of the insertion of the wing into the stand is figured on Fig. 18.
Stand according the technical solution is a light flexible modular system to be used for building, maintenance, transport, and storage of airplane and boat models and it's components
