Abstract

영상 부호화/복호화 장치 및 방법, 및 참조픽처 인덱싱 장치 및 방법이 개시된다. 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 참조픽처 인덱싱 장치는, 움직임 벡터를 추정하기 위하여 참조 픽처를 인덱싱하는 참조 픽처 인덱싱 장치에 있어서, 참조 픽처들의 후보들을 설정하는 후보 참조픽처 설정부; 후보 참조픽처 설정부에 의해 설정된 참조 픽처들의 후보들에 대하여, 현재 부호화할 블록에 따른 우선순위를 결정하는 우선순위 결정부; 및 우선순위 결정부에 의해 결정된 우선순위에 기초하여 현재 부호화할 블록에 따라 적응적으로 참조 픽처를 인덱싱하는 참조픽처 인덱싱부를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
