Abstract

In the case of a method for cleaning a heat exchanger connected to an assembly, wherein the heat exchanger is firstly cooled from the operating temperature thereof to a cleaning temperature, and subsequently a liquid as a cleaning agent is sprayed onto the heat exchanger from a cleaning head, the invention proposes that the heat exchanger has a ring-shaped cross section and surrounds a central free space, a flow of a pure substance conducted in a circuit flows through said heat exchanger, and said heat exchanger remains connected to the assembly during the cleaning process, and that, to carry out the cleaning process, the cleaning head is inserted into the free space of the heat exchanger, the heat exchanger is flushed through radially from the inside to the outside, wherein a cleaning liquid is used which has at least partial solubility for the dirt to be removed, and that, after the cleaning process is carried out, the cleaning head is removed from the free space of the heat exchanger.
