Abstract

Invention is related to the Method for protection against unauthorized bank card reading, which can be applied in fight against units for unauthorized data reading of a bank card when using automatic banking machines, known as ATM, ABM or Automated teller machines. Method includes following operations: the bank card is fed into the machine as from the additional device in the immediate proximity of the skimmer, impulses are generated with repeated frequency into the sound range and in the process of reading, noise is recorded in the skimming device as the record of the useful signal by the magnetic tape of the card is mixed with the record of the noise. The advantage of the offered method is that it is obtained protection from unauthorized reading of data of a bank card in specified operations through automatic banking machines.

Description

METHOD FOR PROTECTION AGAINST UNAUTHORIZED BANK CARD READING
Technical field
[0001] This invention relates to a method for protection against unauthorized bank card reading, which can be applied in fight against units for unauthorized data reading of a bank card when using automatic banking machines, known as ATM, ABM or Automated teller machines.
Background art
[0002] Method is known from experience for bank card protection in an automatic banking machine by assembly of special mechanical construction on the entry for card feeding to the machine. The mechanical construction provides protection against assembly of a recorder, known as "skimmer", which is used for unauthorized record of personal data from the bank card.
Disadvantage of the method is reduced reliability as well opportunity for creating and using a "skimmer" in conformity with the mechanical construction.
[0003] There is another method, known from the practice, for bank card protection in an automated banking machine against unauthorized reading from the card through impulse (interrupted) entering as well as taking out by which it is provided record interruption in the attached "skimmer".
Disadvantage of the method is the opportunity for recovering the recorded information packets in the skimming device.
Disclosure of invention
[0004] The purpose of the invention is to create a method for bank card protection against unauthorized reading by generation of electromagnetic noise from additional device in immediate proximity to the feeding card slot of the banking machine.
[0005] The problem is solved with method for bank card protection against unauthorized reading by attached skimmer in an automated teller machine, comprising of the following operations: the bank card is fed into the machine as from the additional device in immediate proximity of the skimmer are generated impulses with repeated frequency into the sound range and in the process of reading noise is recorded in the skimming device as the record of the useful signal by the magnetic tape of the card is mixed with the record of the noise. The impulses can be: electromagnetic, electrostatic, high frequency as well as combination of them.
The advantage of the offered method is that it is obtained protection from unauthorized reading of data of a bank card through deaden the useful signal from the magnetic tape of the card by generated electromagnetic noise in the immediate proximity of the attached skimmer onto the automated teller machine.
Example
[0006] In accordance with the description, the method includes following operations: when feeding the bank card into the automated teller machine, from the additional device in the immediate proximity of place of the skimmer, impulses with repeated frequency are generated into the sound rate. During the process of data reading from the bank card, noise is recorded into the skimming device, thus the record of the useful signal from the magnetic tape of the card is mixed with the record of noise. The recorded information with noise provides protection from recovery and subsequent use and thus automated teller machine protects its functions by meeting the requirements for conducting the given process. Following types of impulses are used: electromagnetic, electrostatic, high frequency as well as combination of them.

Claims
