"Apparatus for spraying liquids with radio control"

DESCRIPTION
The present invention relates to an apparatus for spraying liquids with radio control.
Electronic turbines for supplying pressurized air to spray paint guns, otherwise named airbrushes, are known. Said turbines have an electronic display and a main switch on their own body. A hose conveys the pressurized air to an inlet mouth of a paint gun, which has a spray lever and a paint tank adapted to interact with the pressurized air exiting from the airbrush nozzle. Micro-drops of pressurized paint (atomized paint) which are typical of an airbrush will be formed.
Unfortunately, the operator often works with very long hoses, some metres away from the turbine, i.e. far from the control console of the turbine. In order to turn on, turn off or adjust the turbine, the operator is forced to move away from the working area, thus resulting in a waste of time; moreover, there is a waste of power of the turbine which forces the pressurized air into the hose well before the operator is at his/her working position and acts on the lever for "spraying" the liquid (such as paint or the like) from the tank. In fact, the operator often leaves the turbine turned on even during short standby periods in order not to walk the area between the working position and the turbine.
It is the object of the present invention to provide an apparatus for spraying pressurized liquids, such as paint or the like, with an electronic turbine and airbrush, which decreases the dead times for a more efficient use of the apparatus.
In accordance with the invention, such an object is achieved by means of an apparatus for spraying liquids, preferably paint, comprising an electronic turbine and an airbrush connected by a hose supplying pressurized air, characterized in that it comprises a radio control.
These and other features of the present invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description of a practical embodiment thereof, shown by way of non-limiting example in the accompanying drawings, in which:
figure 1 shows a spraying apparatus with free radio control;
figure 2 shows a spraying apparatus with radio control mounted to the airbrush.
An apparatus 1 for applying a liquid, such as for example atomized paint, comprises an electronic turbine 2, an airbrush 3 and a radio control 4.
Turbine 2 comprises an ignition switch 5, a control panel 6 for adjusting the supply air, air filters 7 for the internal motor (20) (not shown), a power lead 8 and a transport handle 9.
The radio control 4 includes a signalling LED 10, an ignition button 11, a turn off button 12, a power increasing button 13 and a power decreasing button 14.
Airbrush 3 is connected to turbine 2 by means of a hose 15 delivering the pressurized air, and includes a paint tank 16 and a spray lever 17 adapted to control the convergence of the pressurized air with said paint downstream of the outlet nozzle 19 of the barrel 18 of airbrush 3.
Figure 1 shows an embodiment of apparatus 1 with free radio control 4, i.e. without restraints and hence physically independent with respect to turbine 2 and to airbrush 3.
Figure 2 shows an embodiment of the apparatus with radio control 4 mounted to the airbrush 3, in particular to the handgrip 30, thus facilitating the operation thereof.
Turbine 2 is supplied with a single-phase voltage of 220-230/240 V at 50/60 Hz, for example. Motor 20 (not shown), coupled with fans 21 (not shown), generates an airflow which, when channelled into the supply hose 15, goes to the outlet mouths 22 in front of the nozzle 19 of airbrush 3. The air flow rate may be adjusted by means of buttons arranged on the control
panel 6 or radio control 4 to optimize the finishing amount and level of the covering product, also according to the density/viscosity thereof. The high volume at low pressure ensures the atomization of the covering product and, simultaneously encompassed by the same air jet, "gently" and accurately deposits it on the medium to be treated, painted and/or covered.
By way of example, the radio control 4 is of RF type at 433 MHZ with four buttons capable of carrying out the same functions as the control panel of a traditional turbine without radio control.
A single radio control 4 may simultaneously manage various utilities while saving various codes.
The radio control 4 allows the user to operate and adjust turbine 2 when he/she is at the working position, even several metres away from turbine 2, i.e. with the hose 15 completely stretched out, for example. Power losses do not advantageously occur from turbine 2 in the temporary steps of start-up and end of paint application. Moreover, the dead times are decreased to the benefit of the liquid spraying speed: only the power required to perform the work is used, without wasting electrical energy.
Any other remote control device may be used in place of the radio control 4, e.g. infrared or any other similar technology.
