Abstract

The invention relates to a device (10) for preventing the passage of a liquid (26), in particular oil, that has been discharged into a body (20) of water. The device (10) comprises a bed element (12) for positioning on the bed (18) of the body (20) of water. The bed element (12) is designed in such a way that the weight force G acting on the bed element is greater than the buoyancy force A, so that the bed element (12) is retained on the bed (18) of the body (20) of water by the weight force. The device (10) also comprises at least one suspended element (14a, 14b) to be positioned above the bed (18) and below the surface (22) of the body (20) of water in a suspended manner. The suspended element (14a, 14b) is designed that the buoyancy force A acting on the suspended element is greater than the weight force G that acts on the suspended element (14a, 14b), so that the suspended element is retained in a suspended position above the bed (18) and below the surface (22) of the body (20) of water. The device (10) also comprises a floating element (16) to be positioned on the surface (22) of the body (20) of water in a floating manner. The floating element (16) is designed in such a way that the buoyancy force A acting on the floating element is greater than the weight force acing on the floating element when the floating element (16) is completely immersed in the body (20) of water, so that the floating element (16) experiences a buoyancy in such a way that part of the floating element (16) protrudes from the surface (22) of the body (20) of water.
