- FIG. 1 illustrates characteristics of PDCCH candidates for which a terminal performs monitoring according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- One PDCCH may be configured with one or a plurality of control channel elements (CCEs).
- CCEs control channel elements
- the number of control channel elements (CCEs) constituting one PDCCH is called an aggregation level.
- the PDCCH candidate set to be monitored by the UE is defined as a search space.
- the search space is independently defined for each PDCCH aggregation level. That is, PDCCH candidates define a search space at aggregation level L. In addition, defined search spaces may overlap each other.
- the UE detects control information delivered to the UE by monitoring the common search space (CSS) and the UE-specific search space (USS).
- CSS common search space
- USS UE-specific search space
- Monitoring means that the terminal attempts to interpret each of the PDCCH candidates according to all monitored downlink control information (DCI) formats.
- DCI downlink control information
- PDCCH candidates for which the UE should monitor are placed in a search space.
- CCEs corresponding to the m th PDCCH candidate of the search space S k (L) may be given by Equation 1 below.
- N CCE, k is the total number of CCEs that the base station can use to transmit PDDCHs.
- M ( L ) is the total number of PDCCH candidates that the UE should monitor in a given search space.
- the terminal should monitor CSS for aggregation level 4 and aggregation level 8, and monitor USS for aggregation level 1, aggregation level 2, aggregation level 4, and aggregation level 8, respectively.
- CSS and USS may have regions overlapping each other.
- CCEs corresponding to the m th PDCCH candidate in the search space S k (L) may be given according to Equation 2 below.
- Equation 3 below holds when the monitoring terminal is configured with CIF. That is, Equation 3 below holds for a terminal on which CIF is set.

- CSS For CSS, Y k is set to zero. Thus, CSS with aggregation level 4 and CSS with aggregation level 8 overlap exactly. That is, CSS is composed of 16 CCEs from CCE 0 to CCE 15.
- Equation 4 Y k is defined as in Equation 4 below.
- n s is the slot number.
- n RNTI is a Radio Network Temporary Identifier (s) (RNTI) value.
- downlink control information may include a carrier indication field (CIF).
- the CIF indicates which downlink CC or uplink CC are used for downlink allocation information and uplink grant information. That is, downlink CCs may be identified based on the CIF (that is, through downlink allocation information of the CIF), and uplink CCs may be identified by the uplink grant information of the CIF.
- the PDCCH candidates have a specific DCI format
- the CRC is scrambled with the same RNTI (C-RNTI or SPS_RNTI)
- the PDCCH candidates may have one or more possible CIF values for the DCI format.
- PDCCH candidates of a particular DCI format size among the PDCCH candidates are transmitted in the USS corresponding to any of the possible CIF values for the DCI format size.
- 2 and 3 illustrate a reason for ambiguity of DCI detection and a method for avoiding ambiguity in the LTE Rel-8 / 9 standard that does not use carrier aggregation.
- the codeword obtained after the channel coding may be repeated in a cyclical form.
- CCE i corresponds to the starting CCE of the USS in which the aggregation level of the terminal is L
- a result of the detection may pass a Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC).
- CRC Cyclic Redundancy Check
- the UE recognizes the starting CCE as CCE i, but in reality, the base station transmits the CCE k to the starting CCE.
- the starting CCE index is used in particular for the mapping of Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) ACK / NAK channel resources. Therefore, when the UE incorrectly recognizes the starting CCE, it leads to a wrong ACK / NAK resource mapping causes a problem.
- PUCCH Physical Uplink Control Channel
- FIG. 2 illustrates a case where the CSS 210 and the USS 220 having an aggregation level of 2 according to an example of the present invention overlap.
- FIG 3 illustrates a case where the USS 310 having an aggregation level of 2 and the USS 320 having an aggregation level of 4 overlap with each other according to an example of the present disclosure.
- the base station when there is an overlapping area between the USS 310 having the aggregation level 2 and the USS 320 having the aggregation level 4, the base station actually uses CCE 8 through CCE 11 (that is, Even if the PDCCH having the aggregation level 4 is transmitted, the UE may succeed in detecting the PDCCH having the aggregation level 2 with respect to the hatched portions CCE 10 and CCE 11 330.
- the base station actually transmits a PDCCH having an aggregation level of 2 using (CCE 10, CCE 11), and the UE may succeed in detecting a PDCCH having an aggregation level of 4 for CCE 8 to CCE 11.
- one CCE may transmit a total of 72 bits.
- tail-biting convolutional coding with a code rate of 1/3 is used for PDCCH channel decoding, and 16-bit CRC coding is performed before information is input to the channel decoder.
- the basic length of the channel decoder output is 3 * (payload size + 16) bits, and the bits sequentially fill the number of CCEs corresponding to the aggregation level of the PDCCH channel.
- Equation 5 the resulting set of ambiguity payload sizes is expressed as in Equation 5 below. Can be.
- Table 1 is 3GPP TS 36.212 table 5.3.3.1.2-1.
- Table 1 shows payload sizes with ambiguity.
- the payload sizes of Table 1 are not used in LTE Rel-8 / 9 because the contents of the starting CCE can be repeated in later CCEs.
- the demodulation result for the hatched portion 230 passes the CRC. The case rarely occurs. That is, the demodulation result for the hatched portion 230 passes the CRC to a degree corresponding to a normal undetected error rate.
- the base station transmits a PDCCH having an aggregation level of 2 using (CCE 2, CCE 3) of the USS
- the UE attempts to detect a PDCCH having an aggregation level of 4 for CCE 0 to CCE 3 of CSS
- the demodulation results in the regions CCE 0 to CCE 3 pass through the CRC only to the extent of the normal undetected error rate.
- DCI formats 0, 1, 1A, 1B, 1D, 2, 2A, and 2B are DCI formats in which a CRC can be scrambled by cell (C) -RNTI. These DCI formats can all be sent in the USS. DCI formats 0 and 1A can also be sent in CSS.
- DCI formats 0, 1, 1A, 2, 2A, and 2B may be scrambled with semi-persistent scheduling-RNTI (SPS-RNTI) and may be transmitted in USS.
- DCI formats 0 and 1A can also be sent in CSS.
- DCI formats 0, 1, and 1A may be scrambled with Temporary Cell-RNTI (C-RNTI).
- C-RNTI Temporary Cell-RNTI
- Format 0 may be sent in CSS
- Format 1 may be sent in USS
- Format 1A may be sent in both CSS and CSS.
- FIG. 4 is a signal flow diagram illustrating a communication method of a base station and a terminal in an LTE-Advanced system according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- the terminal 400 monitors the PDCCH search space.
- the PDCCH transmits downlink allocation information and uplink grant information, which are DCIs.
- the terminal 400 may be configured to monitor the PDCCH candidates scrambled by the C-RNTI and the like in the CSS and the USS.
- the base station 410 transmits a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) to the terminal 400 through a plurality of downlink CCs.
- PDSCH physical downlink shared channel
- the terminal 400 transmits a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) to the base station 410 through a plurality of uplink CC.
- PUSCH physical uplink shared channel
- the PDCCH search space monitored by the terminal 400 is divided into CSS and USS.
- USS is defined by CC. That is, when the terminal 400 is configured to use N downlink CC, the terminal 400 has N individual USS.
- a search space corresponding to each CC is defined.
- a plurality of search spaces may be defined in one CC.
- two USSs corresponding to two CCs may be defined within one CC.
- the size of CSS may be configured to be the same regardless of the number of downlink CCs configured in the terminal 400.
- CSS may be composed of 16 CCEs from CCE 0 to CCE 15 as in LTE Rel-8 / 9.
- the size of the CSS may be configured to vary depending on the number of downlink CC configured in the terminal 400. In this case, in general, when the number of configured CCs is increased, the size of the CSS is preferably increased.
- the terminal 400 using cross-carrier scheduling includes the CIF in the DCI format transmitted to the USS.
- the base station 410 informs the terminal 400 of the CC where the scheduling occurs through the CIF value.
- the DCI format sent to CSS does not have a CIF.
- the DCI format transmitted to the USS of the terminal 400 using cross-scheduling usually has a CIF.
- a 16-bit CRC is added to the DCI information transmitted on the PDCCH.
- the CRC is scrambled with RNTI.
- DCI format 0 and DCI format 1A may be scrambled with C-RNTI or SPS-RNTI. Both DCI format 0 and DCI format 1A can be transmitted in CSS or USS.
- DCI transmitted in CSS does not contain CIF.
- the DCI transmitted only in the USS and scrambled with the C-RNTI or the SPS-RNTI always includes the CIF.
- the first DCI scrambled with C-RNTI or SPS-RNTI while being transmitted only in USS and the second DCI scrambled with C-RNTI or SPS-RNTI while being transmitted only in CSS may have the same payload size.
- portions of CSS and USS may overlap each other.
- the terminal 400 In the region where the search spaces overlap, although the terminal 400 succeeds in detecting the PDCCH, the terminal 400 cannot distinguish which of two formats having the same payload size is actually transmitted. When the terminal 400 succeeds in detecting the PDCCH, it means that information bits obtained by the terminal 400 performing PDCCH demodulation and decoding have passed the CRC check.
- the problem that the above-described terminal 400 cannot distinguish the transmitted format is that, in the region where the CSS and the USS overlap each other, two DCI formats originating from the CSS and the USS are scrambled with the same RNTI and have the same payload size. It only happens when you have it.
- DCI format 0 and DCI format 1A may be transmitted in CSS, and the payload sizes of DCI format 0 and DCI format 1A are the same. If, among the USS DCI formats that the UE 400 should monitor, if there is a CRC scrambled with the same RNTI (C-RNTI or SPS_RNTI) with the same payload size as DCI format 0 and DCI format 1A originating from CCS, The above problem may occur.
- C-RNTI C-RNTI or SPS_RNTI
- the terminal 400 may be divided and examined as follows 1) to 4).
- a configuration in which the size of the CSS is changed may be used.
- the solutions proposed below assume that the structure and size of the CSS are the same as the structure and size of the CSS used in the LTE Rel-8 / Rel-9 standard. However, the solutions presented below can also be applied to CSS having different types of structures and sizes.
- FIG 5 illustrates a case where the CSS 510 and the USS 520 having an aggregation level of 1 according to an example of the present invention overlap each other.
- the terminal 400 may successfully demodulate the PDCCH.
- the terminal 400 cannot distinguish which of the detected DCI originates from the CSS 510 and the USS 520. Therefore, even if the terminal 400 succeeds in detecting the PDCCH, a problem occurs in interpreting the contents of the DCI format.
- the terminal 400 even if the terminal 400 attempts to detect a PDCCH having an aggregation level of 4 for CCE 4 to CCE 7, and the detection is successful, the terminal 400 has a DCI of which one of the CSS 510 and the USS 520 does. It is indistinguishable from origin.
- FIG. 6 illustrates a case where the CSS 610 and the USS 620 having an aggregation level of 2 overlap with each other according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- the terminal 400 may attempt to detect (CCE 4, CCE 5), and thus the terminal 400 may succeed in demodulating the PDCCH.
- the terminal 400 attempts to detect a PDCCH having an aggregation level of 4 with respect to (CCE 4 to CCE 7), (CCE 8 to CCE 11), or (CCE 12 to CCE 15), the detection is successful.
- the terminal 400 cannot distinguish which of the DCI originates from the CSS 610 and the USS 620.
- FIG. 7 illustrates a case where the CSS 710 and the USS 720 having an aggregation level of 4 overlap with each other according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- FIG 8 illustrates a case where the CSS 810 and the USS 820 having the aggregation level 8 overlap with each other according to an example of the present invention.
- the terminal 400 in the region where the CSS 510, 610, 710 or 810 and the USS 520, 620, 720 or 820 overlaps the CSS 510, 610.
- PDCCH detection is attempted using specific possible starting CCEs (ie, CCE 0, CCE 4, CCE 8, or CCE 12) of 710 or 810 as a starting CCE, the terminal 400 interprets the detected DCI. A problem arises.
- the detected DCI is always CSS. Or limitations may be imposed on the interpretation as originating in USS.
- the base station 410 may perform DCI transmission without limitation in CSS.
- the base station 410 determines that the starting CCE of the DCI originating from the USS in the region where the CSS and the USS overlap is one of the possible starting CCEs (ie, CCE 0, CCE 4, CCE 8, and CCE 12) of the CSS PDCCH candidates.
- the USS DCI can be transmitted only when it does not correspond to one CCE.
- This approach has the advantage that the USS DCI can be transmitted in some of the overlapping regions compared to the way in which only DCI transmission originating in CSS is allowed for all of the regions where the CSS and USS overlap.
- CCE 2, CCE 3, CCE 5, CCE 6 and CCE 7 excluding CCE 4 are valid as PDCCH candidates of USS.
- CCE 2, CCE 3) and (CCE 6, CCE 7) are valid as PDCCH candidates of USS.
- the detected DCI is always limited to be interpreted as originating in the USS. This can be applied.
- the starting CCE is any one of the possible starting CCEs (ie, CCE 0, CCE 4, CCE 8 and CCE 12) of the CSS PDCCH candidates. If it corresponds to the CCE, the base station 410 may transmit only the USS DCI. In this case, the terminal 400 may determine that only the USS DCI is transmitted in the region where the CSS and the USS overlap, and detect and interpret the PDCCH.
- the terminal 400 interprets the PDCCH determined to be ambiguity in the DCI format into the CSS DCI format.
- the base station 410 may transmit only the PDCCH in the CSS, and the terminal 400 interprets (or deems) that only the PDCCH in the CSS has been transmitted.
- PDCCH candidates in CSS may be viewed as first PDCCH candidates
- PDCCH candidates in USS may be viewed as second PDCCH candidates.
- the terminal 400 may consider that the PDCCH among the first PDCCH candidates is transmitted.
- the terminal 400 interprets the PDCCH determined to be ambiguity of the DCI format into the USS DCI format.
- the payload consists of information bits and CRC bits (16 bits). Once the CRC for the information bit is generated, the payload is generated by appending the generated CRC to the information bit. Bit-wise scrambling is applied to the entire payload generated. Bit scrambling is applied in the form of 3GPP specification TS 36.211 v8.7.0 6.3.1, but different initialization values c init of a scrambling sequence generator are applied to the CSS DCI format and the USS DCI format.
- the terminal 400 can distinguish which DCI format is transmitted.
- bit stream of the entire payload of the CSS DCI format and the bit stream of the entire payload of the USS DCI format may be cyclically shifted by applying different offsets.
- bit stream of the payload in DCI format is " x (1), x (2), ... x (N) " Apply ⁇ q ⁇ N) to change x (i) to x ((i + q) mod N)).
- q 3
- the bit order is changed to x (4), x (5), ... x (N), x (3), x (2), x (1).
- the terminal 400 may distinguish which format is transmitted.
- the CRC may be scrambled by applying different C-RNTIs to each of the CSS DCI format and the USS DCI format. If different RNTIs are allocated and used for the CSS DCI format and the USS DCI format, no ambiguity between the CSS DCI format and the USS DCI format occurs.
- the payload size of the CSS DCI format and the payload size of the USS DCI format can be kept different at all times.
