Abstract

형태와 특징 정보를 이용한 비정형 객체 추적 장치 및 그 방법이 개시된다. 배경 생성부는 연속적으로 입력되는 영상 프레임을 기초로 배경 영상을 생성하고, 영상 프레임들로부터 검출된 객체의 움직임 여부에 따라 배경 영상을 갱신한다. 움직임 검출부는 배경 영상과 입력 영상 프레임 사이에 차이가 존재하는 블록들을 모두 포함하는 사각형을 움직임 영역의 검출 결과로 출력한다. 형상 제어점 추출부는 검출된 움직임 영역으로부터 형상 제어점(Shape Control Point : SCP)을 추출한다. 객체 추적부는 객체 교합의 발생여부에 따라 상기 추출된 형상 제어점들을 기초로 블록 기반 정합 알고리즘을 수행하여 객체를 추적하거나, 무게 중심에 기반한 블록 정합 알고리즘 또는 주기적 갱신 기반 블록 정합 알고리즘에 의해 객체를 추적한다.
