Abstract

The aim of the invention is to achieve improved cooling of the winding head in electrical machines of which the rotor is operated at high rotation speeds. Therefore, a rotor (1) is provided with a winding head cap (4) which has a cylindrical casing. The casing is at least partially formed from a composite fibre material or from a light metal or from a light metal alloy and has a channel (10) running through it. This can produce a coolant stream in the radial direction from the winding head cap (4), so that the cooling of the winding head is optimized.
