Abstract

본 발명에 따른, 호스트 장치에 의해 복수의 단위 저장 영역들을 갖는 저장 장치를 인증하는 방법은, 상기 저장 장치를 고유하게 식별하는데 사용되는 기준 결함 영역들의 위치 분포에 대한 정보를 획득하는 단계와; 상기 저장 장치의 단위 저장 영역들을 샘플링하는 단계와; 상기 샘플링된 영역들 중 물리적 결함을 갖는 영역들의 위치 분포를 식별하는 단계와; 상기 획득된 위치 분포와 상기 식별된 위치 분포의 유사도를 판단하는 단계와; 상기 판단 결과에 따라 상기 저장 장치를 인증하는 단계를 포함한다.
