Abstract

A method for managing a device that provides M2M services according to the present invention comprises: a process where a device that provides the M2M services to a user transmits a device registration request message requesting that the device be registered, after the connection setup with a wired/wireless network has been completed; a process where a service server that receives the device registration request message performs authentication for the device and analyzes information about the device to set up M2M service provider information which is necessary to provide the M2M service to the device, provided that the device has been registered for the first time; a process where the service server saves, in a user/device repository, the device registration information included in the device registration request message as well as device profile information including the M2M service provider information; a process where the user/device repository generates reference information for making reference to the device profile information; and a process where the service server acquires the reference information from the user/device repository.
