Definitions

  • This invention is related to AIR GUN.
  • Piston with spring - Spring Piston is generally accepted name for an air gun with power-plant made of the standard steel spring which pushes the Compression Piston.
  • the spring is inserted into the Compression Piston and so together they are inserted into the Compression Tube.
  • the spring is compressed by cocking hand/lever until the Compression Piston is cocked. Pulling the trigger, the spring is released to push the Compression Piston which then creates compression in the Compression Tube which shoots a pellet. For each shot of a pellet, the same action is to be repeated.
  • This type of power-plant for air gun is characterized by gradual fatigue of the spring by its use.
  • An air gun with the Standard Spring can reach muzzle velocity of a standard lead pellet which exceeds the speed of sound, and effectively has the upper limit of about 380 m/s or 1250 fps, for the calibre .177 or 4.5 mm.
  • Piston with the pneumatic insert - Gas Ram is generally accepted name for the pneumatic insert which is installed into the Compression Tube in the place of the Standard Spring as the Standard Spring is removed.
  • This type of power-plant is characterized by consistent power and reduction of vibrations, and it lasts longer than the Standard Spring.
  • Pre-charged Pneumatic - PCP is generally accepted name /abbreviation for airguns that use in advance filled air under pressure for shooting pellets.
  • the air is filled in advance under high pressure, into an appropriate cylinder or chamber, in larger quantities, and thus it can be used for multiple shots of pellets.
  • the air is released through the valve directly onto a projectile/pellet.
  • This type of power-plant for air guns is characterized by inconsistency of power and gradual spending of the compressed air and exhaustion of pushing force after firing each pellet and by impracticality of refilling and pumping it, but it is also characterized by minimal vibration which makes a positive impact on accuracy at target shooting.
  • Power-plant with C02 uses cylinders filled in advance with CO2 gas, under pressure, usually for a single use of them. Such cylinders are usually not meant to be refilled.
  • Some more expensive models can use larger containers to be refilled by CO2 as those air guns which are used for shooting colour balls in Paintball games.
  • This type of air weapon is characterized by inconsistency in power and by gradual exhaustion of pushing force, but also produces minimal vibration which has a positive impact on accuracy at shooting.
  • Hollow Connector is a part of the pneumatic mechanism as an innovative element which connects two different power-plants: the power-plant with the Standard Spring and/or with the Pneumatic Piston, together or independently, with the Compression Piston by the help of the Operating Bar-long or short one, because it can accept the Pneumatic Cylinder with the Pneumatic Piston on both sides, and that way enables several types and variants of power-plants in the same air gun.
  • Pressure Chamber is an air container with compressed air placed outside of the Compression Tube and it is connected to that Compression Tube by the Hollow Connector. It is filled with Compressed Air which pushes the Pneumatic Piston which is placed in the Pneumatic Cylinder.
  • Compressed Air is compressed air under high pressure in the Pressure Chamber which pushes the Pneumatic Piston which either by the Operating .Bar-long or by the Operating .Bar-short pushes the Compression Piston.
  • Valve is a part of the pneumatic mechanism which, by pumping or releasing the pressure in the Pressure Chamber, enables change of the pressure and regulation of the pressure in the Pressure Chamber, that is the change and regulation of an air gun power, so enabling complete emptying of the Pressure Chamber for the purpose of changing the type of power-plant or combination of power-plans. It also enables releasing pressure for the purpose of any possible repairs or changes of the sealing rings in the pneumatic mechanism.
  • Pneumatic Piston is the operating piston placed in the Pneumatic Cylinder which, under pressure of the Compressed Air from the Pressure Chamber, pushes the Compression Piston by the Operating Bar-XoTig or The Operating Bar-short.
  • Pneumatic Cylinder is the leading-pipe of the Pneumatic Piston which is under pressure by the Compressed Air from the Pressure Chamber. It can be placed inside of the Pressure Chamber for the purpose of the double power-plant using the Operating Bar-long or inside of the Compression Tube when the Operating Bar-short is used for the purpose of the single, pneumatic, power-plant.
  • Operating Bar - long is a hollow operating-bar in the power-plant mechanism which is pulled through the Hollow Connector and further on through the hollow space in the Standard Spring and operates under pressure of the Pneumatic Piston which is pushed by the Compressed Air from the Pressure Chamber, and that way it joins powers of the Pneumatic Piston and the Standard Spring so operating together and simultaneously as double power which pushes the Compression Piston, where the Operating Bar-long can also operate independently when the Standard Spring is removed.
  • Safety Screw makes one of three safety screws which, together with the bottom screw that connects the Compression Tube to the gunstock, keeping the power plant safely fixed to the Compression Tube and the gunstock.
  • Compression Tube is the part of an airgun between the barrel and the gunstock which encloses the Compression Piston with the Standard Spring.
  • Compression piston is the standard piston in an air gun which, when released by pulling the trigger, produces air compression, in the Compression Tube, which shoots a pellet.
  • Standard Spring is the standard metal spring which is partially placed in the Compression Tube and partially in the hollow space of the Compression Piston.
  • Operating Bat-short is a short hollow operating bar which is connected onto the Pneumatic Piston which is, through the Hollow Connector, connected to the power of the Compressed Air from the Pressure Chamber and so it pushes the Compression Piston, directly and independently, without the Standard Spring.

  • Air Gun Pneumatic Power-Booster besides its operation in combination with the Standard Spring as the double power-plant, because of the fact that the Pneumatic Cylinder together with the Pneumatic Piston can be removed from the Pressure Chamber and put into the Compression Tube, it can operate also independently, without the Standard Spring, as a single power-plant.

  • the Pneumatic Piston 5 which is under direct pressure of the Compressed Air 3 from the Pressure Chamber, operates by the Operating Bar - short 12, directly on the Compression Piston 10 which creates the compression in the Compression Tube 9 that shoots a projectile/diabolo.
  • This pneumatic mechanism is superior to other mechanisms when operating independently or in the above mentioned combinations, and it is characterized by relatively unlimited pushing power which is constant and inexhaustible when operated independently or in combination with the Standard Spring 11, so it enables shooting of unlimited number of projectiles, one by one, as well as possibility of regulating and adjusting the pushing power and the power of such an air gun.
