Abstract
L'invention porte sur une structure composite acier-bois qui utilise la torsion d'une tôle d'acier de faible épaisseur autour d'éléments en bois standard afin d'obtenir une efficacité structurelle exceptionnelle, qui est supérieure à celle obtenue lorsque soit de l'acier, soit du bois sont uniquement utilisés. Pour ne nommer que quelques-uns d'une très longue liste, les avantages du nouveau système comprennent une robustesse et une ductilité plus élevées, des raccords plus robustes mais cependant plus simples, une meilleure résistance au feu et à l'érosion, une meilleure qualité et un poids léger.
