Abstract
The embodiments of the present invention disclose a Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) identity transformation method and apparatus, which are used to avoid the problems that huge workload is generated and configuration speed is seriously lagged because service information tables including the correspondences between identities of other routing bridge devices supporting the same service with a routing bridge device and the local VLAN identities of the other routing bridge devices are manually configured on the routing bridge device. The method in the embodiments of the present invention includes: obtaining and storing service information tables transmitted from each routing bridge device (401); receiving a data message encapsulated through Transparent Interconnection of Lots of Links (TRILL), forwarded by a neighboring routing bridge device and transmitted from a source terminal (402); searching the stored service information tables, and transforming the VLAN identity in the received data message into the local VLAN identity (403); and transmitting to a destination terminal the data message with the transformed VLAN identity (404).
