Description

Male underpants with an adjustable supporting pocket
The present invention refers to a pair of male pants intended to be used preferably by sportsmen and by other active persons and comprising a waist portion connected to back and front portions, which at the crotch of the wearer are interconnected or merge into each other into a crotch portion.
Male pants used today and which can be found on the market in the form of underwear or sport trousers in many cases are provided with an inner trouser or a lining, which can be perforated in providing a certain air permeability. This lining is in some cases also intended to provide a supporting effect for the genitals of the man, above all his scrotum. In addition to those prior art trousers, especially those adapted for sport use, there exists specially shaped trousers or girdles intended to support the "package" and/or to retain it in the desired position. The disadvantages of those previously known arrangements are that the lined trousers fail to keep all of the genital unit in its proper location without the aid of further garments/products and that other help mentioned above for said securement of the positioning thereof is inconvenient and time-consuming to apply. The sportsmen having a special need of a solution in this area are for example marathon racers and sprinters. Those previously known male pants which in their front side are provided with elongated elastics or similar elastic means are sewn on with a continuous, not varying tension resulting in that not the same tight and elegant fit is obtained as the underpants according to the invention presents, but instead these known pants are supported more flimsy against the wearer's body without any exact fit. The object of the present invention is to provide a type of male pants, which eliminates those problems mentioned above and which is easy to apply and which in an efficient and stylish way retain or support all of the genital unit in position without any need of additional garments/ products. The characterizing features of the present invention are set forth in the claims enclosed. Thanks to the invention a pair of male pants has been provided, which in an excellent way fulfils its purposes at the same time as it is both easy and not expensive to manufacture. The idea of the function of the pants according to the invention is that a solution has been achieved which very efficiently retain the whole package in a desired position no matter how the form of the wearer's body look like. By aid of the pants according to the invention having its pocket and its elastic means extending in connection to said pocket a safe anchoring and fixation into position of the genitals of the man is achieved, which permits an increased output capacity without taking away the freedom of movement, being discomfort or in another way disturbing the output capacity of the wearer. The elastic means are fastened or sewn on against the front portion of the pants with a continuously varying tension depending on the form of the wearer's body, so that a more tight fit of the whole pants is achieved, which is exactly adapted or suited to the wearer's body and having a pressing of the front portion of the pants in a direction against the body independent of how big or fat the wearer is. The fixing of the elastic means is provided by that these are kept in a varying tension as they are fixed or are sewn on and in that case a fat or big person is concerned the tension of the elastic means thus must be lowest where the wearer is thickest and highest where the wearer is thinnest.
The invention is described closer below with help of two preferred embodiment examples with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which
Fig. 1 shows a schematic perspective view of a pair of male pants according to the invention,
Fig. 2 shows a schematic perspective view of the pants illustrated in fig. 1, viewed from above, and
Fig. 3 shows a schematic part view of the fixing of a pocket on the inside of the front portion of an alternative embodiment example of a pair of male pants according to the invention.
As can be seen from Fig. 1 and 2 here is illustrated a first embodiment example of a pair of male pants 1 according to the present invention. The pair of male pants 1, which especially is adapted to be used by sportsmen and by other active persons, comprises a waist portion 2 connected to back and front portions 3, 4. These merge into each other or are interconnected at a crotch 5 of the wearer. The front portion 4 of the male pants 1 does at its inner side 6 have a pocket 7 sewn thereon and comprising an upper, free edge portion 8. The high position of the edge portion 8 is adjustable in a vertical direction, so that it can be adjusted in relation to the waist portion 2. This adjustment is done by aid of an adjusting means 9 extending from the waist portion 2 consisting of a thread or a strip 10 partly dependent on actual location of the genital unit on the body of the wearer and partly on the type of sport exercise in providing an anchoring and also a "push up" effect of the man's whole packet or genitals i.e. both the scrotum and penis. The strip 10 can consist of an elastic, by which the free edge portion 8 can be tightened up in a direction forwards and inwards to a waist band 11 of the waist portion 2 intended for the location of the pants itself on the user. The strip 10 is with at least one of its free ends 14, 15 fixable into position at a desirable adjustment position for the edge portion 8 to the waist portion 2 of the pants 1.
In providing of a still more anchoring and fixing into position of the packet depending on the body form of the wearer the pair of male pants according to the invention comprises elastic means 16 and 17 in connection to or for fixing the sides 12,13 of the pocket 7 against the inside 6 of its front portion 4 on each side of the pocket 7. These elastic means 16,17 extend over the main part of the extension of the front portion 4 in a height direction in providing an elastic fixation into position of said pocket in a direction inwards to the body of the wearer.
In fig. 3 an alternative embodiment example is illustrated where the pocket 7 is fixed to the inside 6 of the front portion 4 by aid of one of each side vertically extending elastic means 16,17 in the form of a flat rubber strip 18,19, which in turn is sewn on by aid of an elastic thread 20,21 in the form of a zigzag stitch. In the example illustrated the zigzag stitch is extending over in a horizontal direction but is in this case only sewn on in the vertical portions of the front portion 4, since the pocket 7 itself is open downwards. The elastic means 16,17, which preferable consist of elastics or rubber strips 18,19 and/or elastic threads 20,21 and the sides 12,13 of the pocket 7 can also be sewn on against the inside 6 of the front portion 4 of the pants 1 by aid of said elastic and/or elastic threads. The elastic means 16,17 are as mentioned above fastened against the front portion 4 of the pants 1 near the sides 12,13 of the pocket 7 with a continuously varying tension along its longitudinal extension in achieving of a tighter fit of the pants independent from the body form of a wearer .
