Abstract

Ein Laserverstärkungssystem zur Erzeugung von abrufbaren Laserpulsen (S) weist mit mindestens eine Laserquelle (1), insbesondere mit einem nachgeschalteten Pulsselektor (2) zur gezielten Auswahl von zu verstärkenden Laserpulsen, ein Lasermedium (4'') zur Verstärkung von durch die Laserquelle erzeugten Laserpulsen und einen Verlust-Modulator (3) auf, wobei der Verlust-Modulator (3) so angeordnet und geschaltet ist, dass dieser die Verstärkung der Laserpulse durch das Lasermedium (4'') durch Verlusterzeugung moduliert, so dass die abrufbaren Laserpulse (S) mit einer vorgegebenen Pulszeit und/oder Pulsenergie bereitgestellt werden. Hierbei wird vor einem Verstärkungsvorgang für einen der Laserpulse die jeweils momentane Verstärkung des Lasermediums (4'') bestimmt und die Verlusterzeugung durch den Verlust-Modulator (3) in Abhängigkeit von der momentanen Verstärkung des Lasermediums (4'') geregelt oder gesteuert.
