Abstract
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a contact tip for a welding torch through forging, which is capable of preventing a failure in inner diameter dimension accuracy of a feeding path, which may occur during a drawing process, and a wire feeding failure that may occur during a welding process due to cracks or protrusions formed on an inner circumferential surface of the feeding path, and also preventing a wire feeding failure caused by foreign substances collecting due to drawing oil adhering to the inner circumferential surface of the feeding path. The contact tip has high strength and durability sufficient for a long-term and continuous welding operation in accordance with welding apparatus automation. Particularly, in the case where the contact tip is made of a high-strength material such as zirconium-copper (Zr-Cu), chromium-zirconium-copper (Cr-Zr-Cu) and beryllium-copper (Be-Cu), a contact tip having good machinability and high strength and durability can be manufactured at low cost.
