Abstract

According to one embodiment of the present invention, a broadcast signal transmitter comprises: an input signal generating unit which generates a first input signal and a second input signal; a first symbol mapper and a second symbol mapper which perform symbol mapping on the first input signal and on the second input signal, respectively, so as to output an M-QAM-type symbol signal and an N-QAM-type symbol signal, respectively; a MIMO encoder which performs MIMO processing on the first input signal and on the second input signal so as to output a first M*N-QAM-type transmission signal and a second M*N-QAM-type transmission signal; a first frame builder and a second frame builder which build frame structures of the first input signal and of the second input signal, respectively; and a first OFDM generator and a second OFDM generator which perform OFDM modulation on the first transmission signal and on the second transmission signal, respectively.
