Abstract

An insulator for an electric power line. One embodiment comprises a composite body having at least two connectors and a housing. The composite body is coupled to a conductor. The composite body is located inside the housing. In one embodiment the composite body includes a hollow core wherein an insulating material is placed within the hollow core, a barrier layer is placed within the hollow core and at least one of the ends is provided with a connector.
