Abstract

The invention relates to a self-calibrating inclinometer comprising: at least two opposing accelerometers (1 and 2); means for calculating the components of the acceleration of gravity of each accelerometer; means for obtaining components X and Y as the difference between the components of the acceleration of gravity of each accelerometer; means (4) for amplifying the signal; and a microcontroller (5), calculating the angle as α = arctg X / Y, wherein X = X1 - X2 and Y = Y1 - Y2. X1, Y1, X2 and y2 are the coordinates or components of gravity (g1) (g2) of each accelerometer, thereby providing a self-calibrating, high-resolution 360° inclinometer that can withstand temperature variations, supply voltage variations, lack of accelerometer linearity or resolution errors.
