Abstract
The invention relates to a roll stand having two interacting working rolls (1, 2), which define a roller gap (3) therebetween for a product (4) to be rolled which passes the roller gap (3) in the rolling direction (W), wherein there are means (5, 6) by which a force (F), effective in the rolling direction (W) can be exerted on at least one working roller (1, 2) in order to influence the deflection (x) of the working roller (1, 2) in the rolling direction (W) from the ideal center axis of the working roller (1, 2). According to the invention, in order to prevent slim rollers from buckling in the horizontal direction in an improved manner, the means (5, 6) for contactlessly applying force (F) are formed on the working roller (1, 2). Said means are preferably magnets. The invention further relates to a method for operating a roll stand.
