Abstract

This invention relates to a filling material used to reduce the corneal curvature in the treatment of kerataconus eyes and myopic eyes not suitable to be treated with excimer laser. The said filling material, is composed of a restorative flowable matter. A tunnel is opened by a femtosecond laser and the filling material is discharged through the tunnel entrance. The corneal surface is compressed with the aid of a plastic material in order to establish pressure on the Cornea. After this step polymerization is carried out with LED light.

Description

FILLING MATERIAL USED IN THE REDUCTION OF CORNEAL
CURVATURE Technical Field
The present invention relates to a filling material used to reduce the corneal curvature in the treatment of kerataconus eyes and myopic eyes not suitable to be treated with excimer laser. Prior Art
The curvature occurring in the corneas commonly result in visual impairment. The applications used in reduction or removal of this problem consist of the usage of hard contact lenses, the placement of a ring inside a cornea and corneal transplant. The most common application in treating myopia is excimer laser surgery.
The known technique that is referred to in the Chinese patent document numbered CN 87215335 mentions a magnetic cap used for the treatment of myopic eyes.
The known technique referred to in the Chinese patent document numbered CN 201026267 mentions equipment with two convex lenses used for the treatment of myopic eyes.
Brief Description of the Invention
This invention relates to a filling material used to reduce the corneal curvature in the treatment of kerataconus eyes and myopic eyes not suitable to be treated with excimer laser. The said filling material, is composed of a restorative flowable matter. A tunnel is opened by a femtosecond laser and the filling material is discharged through the tunnel entrance. The corneal surface is compressed with the aid of a plastic material in order to establish pressure on the Cornea. After this step polymerization is carried out with LED light. Detailed Description of the Invention
After the restorative filling material that has been discharged into the tunnel hardens recovery in the steepness of the cornea is established. Due to the material being flowable in characterization, the inside of the tunnel is filled completely and thus effective flattening is provided. Furthermore due to characterization of the flowable restorative filling material no side effects on the cornea before or after the hardening of the filling material has been noted.
The above mentioned filling material shows similar characteristics with the known technique of dental fillings.

Claims

1. A filling material, formed of flowable restorative material, that is discharged into a tunnel composed by a femtosecond laser into the cornea which hardens after being discharged into the tunnel and helps to reduce the curvature of the cornea.
